Topic: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

Hi There
I am thinking of purchasing the Simpleviewer Pro version BUT need to know whether one can organise the gallery into categories ? and sub-categories ? for navigation purposes ?

Re: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

SimpleViewer-Pro does not support multiple galleries out of the box. There are various ways to build your own navigation between galleries:

1) Use svManager which will create a main menu between multiple galleries. svManager is a separate purchase to SimpleViewer-Pro.

2) Use a HTML wrapper something like this: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … /gallery1/

3) Embed SimpleViewer inside a flash movie and create your own Flash navigation: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … ash_embed/

Re: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

Hi

I have purchased the SimpleViewer Pro gallery but it can't do a simple job like categorising the gallery.
I think I want my money back sad
All i really need is to divide my gallery into say 5 different sections.
Perhaps I could use the HTML wrapper technique to put 5 headings at the top of the gallery, which when clicked go into that specific category.
How do I go about adding these different gallery links at the top of my gallery ? You give an example (HTML wrapper) but I need step by step instructions please.
Then I also need help with setting up different galleries, as we are only supplied with 1, and i need say 5.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

Hi There

I am still having difficulty customising this gallery :(
I need to know how to add links at the top of my gallery that will open a new gallery, seems to be the only way since I can't categorise it.
You talk about html wrapping but i don't know what this is ?

How do i get the SimpleViewer swf to call in a different gallery xml file ? i.e. Gallery02 ? and the gallery03.xml ?

Very lost I'm affraid :(

Re: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

Hi

Please explain to me how I can set up the simpleviewer.swf file to be able to call in different gallery.xml files ?

Re: Categorising the gallery - (navigation)

FAQ: How do I load the XML data from a different file location than the default?

To specify where the xml data is loaded from, use the galleryURL  HTML option.

You can find an example of how to use galleryURL in the pro download simpleviewer-pro2_1/examples/HTML_embed. The easiest way to have multiple galleries is to place each gallery in its own folder and link to them.
