Topic: svPicasa thumbs chopped

Hello Miker and SV Experts.

Thanks for a great forum where I was able first, to provide an answer, then to find one using search.  That's a promising start.

Re: Changing Tumbnail Size in Picassa plugin (4 replies, posted in SimpleViewer v1)
You can't change the size of the thumbnails in SimpleViewer via the Picasa template. To do this requires purchasing SimpleViewer-PRO.

Do you know a work-around for thumbs being truncated at the top and bottom?

Here is the current (Jalbum) gallery with no problem http://www.mounttotumas.com/gallery_6-6-09.html

Here is the one in development (Picasa) with chopped thumbs, #12, 29, etc. http://www.mounttotumascloudforest.com/ … -11-10.htm

Thank you,
Peter

Re: svPicasa thumbs chopped

hi,

SimpleViewer uses 75x75 square thumbnails. If your main images are not square then the thumbnails will be cropped to fit. If you don't like the automatic cropping done by SimpleViewer, you can edit the thumbnail JPGs manually in PhotoShop or similar to crop to a different part of the image.

SimpleViewer-Pro allows you to specify any width and height for the thumbs, but these values are constant, meaning that the thumbnails don't change shape to match the aspect ratio of the main images.

Re: svPicasa thumbs chopped

Hi Felix,
Thanks for your reply. It matches what I'd planned as a next step, to manually edit the cropped thumbs.

SimpleViewer-Pro allows you to specify any width and height for the thumbs,

This is interesting. How do I do this with a simpleviewer Picasa galllery?

Thanks,
Peter
