Topic: Path issue not showing tile back

Well after 15 people viewed and no response, I woke up nice and early to play more.  I did get more done, so deleted that post and hopefully this will be an easy/quick answer.  It looks like just a path issue, but here is what I have on my dev server;

If you look at the album root;
http://lance.dreamdeveloping.com/Albums/wedding/  you will see the tile background behind the album (using the image, color is commented out in the css)

Now if you look at it from the iWeb file which I stuck in there, you see it's working, but not taking on that property;
http://lance.dreamdeveloping.com/__Wedding__.html

I do have dreamweaver, used the embed doc example.  I know the parameters section I added works because if I remove the allowFullScreen true, it does not allow full screen.  The other property is the flashVars which I have set to baseURL=/Albums/wedding

I did try ../ up a level as opposed to root / but same results.  So basically 1st, is that where the issue is?  2nd, and less important, how can I change the border on the active pic?  I don't mind the color, but want to make it much thinner, like 1 or 2pxs?

Thanks, still more tweaking, but enjoying the simpleViewer, great job guys.

Lance

Re: Path issue not showing tile back

You are using two different embed options one page is using JavaScript in an iframe and the other is using the object method. This may be some of the confusion. You can set you background color by setting the params bgcolor equal to a hex color such as "222222".

2nd, and less important, how can I change the border on the active pic? I don't mind the color, but want to make it much thinner, like 1 or 2pxs?

Use frameColor and frameWidth, if you want to control it separately form the thumb frame width and color you will need the pro version.

Re: Path issue not showing tile back

oh, so if I embed using dreamweaver, insert/swf, it does NOT use the index.html in the root album folder.  ok, so if I have it inside the iframe, and want the back of the swf a tile image, can that be done or am I limited to the bgcolor?

Also, where is that bgcolor param set if I do the dreamweaver embed.  I am going to re-try the javascript one now.

2nd, looking http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … tions.html here, I see 2 other things.

1. they say use the gallery.xml file, which I assume is the one set in the baseURL parameter of the flash object.
2. Is it default that the gallery.xml file is empty?  That file says ' add a line inside the opening simpleviewergallery tag' but my gallery.xml file looks only like this;
  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
and nothing else.  I took a copy of the sample one which is blank when viewed in Google Chrome but does show in FF, so when I put the sample there and make my change, the file really only has this;
<simpleviewergallery  galleryStyle="COMPACT" maxImageWidth="700" maxImageHeight="600" thumbRows="4" frameWidth="10">
</simpleviewergallery> but on page load I get "Cannot parse gallery XML file"

I will play with that gallery file and test as well as sitting on my lazy ... waiting for replies, so thanks for the help already.

Re: Path issue not showing tile back

ok, update and getting close.  It was a path issue, and from the reading, the embed is the best, so looking here;
http://lance.dreamdeveloping.com/__Wedding__.html

I did change the bgcolor to be similar to the site, but it's not the image, so to cleanup the post above, it's down to this;

1.  Can you change the params.bgcolor = to a params.image or something like that?

2.  Gallery.xml file still fails to parse, so I can't change the border.  Nothing changed from above, so basically if I use the sample, save it I get the parse error, so is that an old no good gallery.xml file, or missing something?  I took the COMPACT example, and here is the entire gallery.xml file;

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<simpleviewergallery
    title=""
    textColor="FFFFFF"
    frameColor="F5F5DD"
    thumbPosition="LEFT"
    galleryStyle="COMPACT"
    thumbColumns="3"
    thumbRows="4"
    showOpenButton="TRUE"
    showFullscreenButton="TRUE"
    frameWidth="0"
    maxImageWidth="700"
    maxImageHeight="600"
    imagePath="images/"
    thumbPath="thumbs/"
    languageCode="AUTO"
    languageList=""
>
</simpleviewergallery>

Using that, I get a "Cannot Parse Gallery XML" error.

Tnx

Re: Path issue not showing tile back

1.  Can you change the params.bgcolor = to a params.image or something like that?

You can set frameColor as a param.

2.  Gallery.xml file still fails to parse, so I can't change the border.  Nothing changed from above, so basically if I use the sample, save it I get the parse error, so is that an old no good gallery.xml file, or missing something?  I took the COMPACT example, and here is the entire gallery.xml file;

</simpleviewergallery> should only come once at the end of the doc after all the images.
