Topic: Color cast problem

Hi

I'm kind of desperate, I read your forum and I didn't find an answer, I cannot call anybody for questions please tell me what to do. I generate the template on Simple Viewer Pro 2.1.0  and without doing any editing or bring it to the Dreamweaver, when I open it on firefox or internet explorer it looks yellow. It's like it has a extra disgusting  yellow color on top of everything. I'm not sure if this is related I found it on your website and try to follow the instructions, unfortunately I didn't find the "Use Color Correction feature" to uncheck it or put it as false.

Here is the link: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … ort/#color

I'm attaching samples of the template how it looks and how it should look:

I have tested on my husband computer and it shows the same yellow in both browsers.
I've tried different templates and it does the same thing.

Here is the link of that template:

Thank you
Clara

Re: Color cast problem

You are currently using SimpleViewer 2.1.0, try upgrading to SimpleViewer 2.1.1 and using the color correction option.

Re: Color cast problem

I have SimpleViewer-Pro v2.1.1.
I created a gallery that looks fine in Firefox, but has an overall yellow color cast in Internet Explorer.
The Color Correction was turned on when I created the gallery.

How do I fix this problem? The gallery is useless in its current state.

Please post the URL of the page so that we can take a look.

Re: Color cast problem

Thanks for the very speedy response to my question! I appreciate being able to get support on what is a weekend day here.

Here is the URL where the problem gallery page is temporarily hosted:

Earlier today I installed v2.1.2 of SimpleViewer-Pro. Once again during the creation of the gallery I left the Color Correction box checked.

The color cast problem is still present when viewing the page in IE8. In Firefox 3.6.15 it looks just fine. Those are the only browsers I have used so far to test the page.

The problem gallery page is part of a site under construction. The new site will contain 3 gallery pages: Paintings, Drawings, Fiber. Currently only the Drawings gallery contains any images.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Color cast problem

Your site looks the same in Firefox and IE8 to me. The Color correction requires Flash version 10, what Flash version are you running in IE?

Re: Color cast problem

I am assuming IE8 is using the only Flash player that is installed on the two computers I used for my tests: Flash 10 Plugin, v10.2.152.32.

I just tested my gallery page with Safari v5.0.3 on one of the same two computers I used in earlier tests and the gallery looked fine. Both of my test computers are PCs running XP pro with Service Pack 3.

I do not understand how IE8 is able to present the gallery including its properly functioning thumbnail navigation at all if it is not using the only Flash player that is installed on the computer. It is very mysterious that you cannot reproduce the yellow tint error on your computer while I get the same error on two different computers here and only in IE8.

Should I be including an IE comment in the Embed Code regarding the need for Flash 10?  Is there any kind of workaround to make the gallery on my page appear correctly to viewers who do not have Flash 10 installed on their computers?

I know that a huge percentage of web surfers use IE8. I do not yet have other versions of IE to test my page with, but I am already very worried about the uneven experience my viewers might have when I cannot even get my own IE8 browser to work with an available Flash 10 player. Browser inconsistencies definitely make web design a real challenge.

I like SimpleViewer a lot, but if I cannot be assured of a consistent viewing experience across a variety of fairly recent browsers and versions I will have to find another gallery presentation solution.

Thanks in advance for any further help or feedback you can offer. I would love to solve this puzzle.

smile Good News  smile (added 2 days later):
After further tests on other computers with different Internet connections, I have found that the yellow color overlay is only visible on my 2 local computers. I am very relieved and will now complete the building of the site, which will include 3 SimpleViewer-Pro galleries.

The best news for me was when I tested the gallery appearance on my iPad. Wow! It looks great.

Thanks for making such a terrific product and thanks for the speedy response to my questions.
