Topic: No message in the absence of Flash. (64-bit IE8 and Chrome)

can it be, that Simple Viewer 2.1.1 pro shows no message, when flash is not installed? Simple Viewer automatically displays the Sildeshow without flash, and unfortunately it shows no thumbnails.

Is it possible to integrate such a warning?

best regards
Michael

This would not be considered an error/issue, some people do not have flash and do not have to option to install it, especially Mobile Phones or the iPad. However you could do something like the following:

<script type="text/javascript">

    $(document).ready(function () {
        SV.simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', '222222',true);

        if (swfobject.hasFlashPlayerVersion("10.1")) {
          // has Flash
          alert("has flash"); //replace with whatever you would like to happen
        }
        else {
          // no Flash
          alert("Does not have flash"); //replace with whatever you would like to happen
        }

    });
    </script>

Re: No message in the absence of Flash. (64-bit IE8 and Chrome)

My site shows fine with Flash (http://www.djphoto.com/product/product.html) and defaults to HTML 5 on an i-phone without Flash. Are there any other scenarios where it just won't work and that I still need to have the code present where an message will pop-up saying that Flash is needed?

@wild the only other scenarios would be a browser with JavaScript disabled, a diabled/blind person using a page/text reader or a text only browser.
