Topic: importing from existing gallery on the web

I am considering using this program to show my pictures. Right now I have galleries and albums in several places like http://www.ruvyamir.co.il/gallery2/main.php, http://picasaweb.google.com/ruvyamir, and pbase.

I know that just setting up a new gallery even if its simpleviewer requires a considerable amount of work. It makes sense to me only if there is a set mechanism to automatically import existing gallery, albums and images directly from where they are located on the web. My question is: does simpleviewer (or for this matter any other gallery program) supports importing from any of the album sites where I keep my images now?

SimpleViewer supports using flickr and it own XML as seeds for the gallery. You can create the XML using many plug-ins and there is a gallery module for SimpleViewer 1.x

Re: importing from existing gallery on the web

Thank you Mike

I am not a computer person and don't know what XML is or what you ment.
I assume you are telling me that the only gallery from which I can import to simpleview is flicker.

question is if you or anyone else can make importing from my galleries and albums to simpleview a working reality or not.

Re: importing from existing gallery on the web

Hi,

there is no automatic way to convert your current galleries to SimpleViewer but SimpleViewer does provide an easy way to build galleries by dragging in your current gallery images via svBuilder. Try it and see if it works for you.
