Topic: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

Hi, i am trying to embed my gallery made through svBuilder into an eBay listing as eBay doesn't allow external calls to javascripts.

I have all the files uploaded onto my server; the root file for the simpleviewer folder is:

As you can see it works fine there, i am using the following embedding code to embed it into my eBay page.

<embed src="http://****************/svcore/swf/simpleviewer.swf"
bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH=600 HEIGHT=600

The viewer shows up but no images are shown, here is what is shown:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also tried to upload and use the Flickr hosting option and the above code works fine and displays the viewer and images perfectly, the only problem is that if i have several different images in my Flickr account i am unable to find an option to pick specific images. I have tried adding tags to the images i need and using the tags option in svBuilder but then no images show up.

Thank you for any help

Re: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

Try using the 'Object Embed' method found here: … html#basic
Also, you gallery uses SimpleViewer v2.1.2 but your gallery's XML file is defined in your current embedding code with 'xmlDataPath' which is a SimpleViewer v1.9 variable.  Use 'galleryURL' instead: … .html#html

Re: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

There are 2 methods of embedding a SimpleViewer gallery 'Using an External Gallery Folder' detailed here: … l#external
One method involves simply loading the gallery into an <iframe>, such as:

<iframe src="" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Re: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

Sorry the iframe option isn't allowed on eBay.

What other options do i have to embed it?

When embedding with flickr it works fine.

Thank you for your help

Re: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

The page into which the SWF file is being embedded is on eBay's servers.  Therefore, the paths to the images in the gallery's XML file will be relative to this page (and they won't be there).
Either use absolute paths for the imageURL , thumbURL and linkURL entries in the 'gallery.xml' file or use the baseURL option to set an absolute path which all relative paths will then be relative to. … .html#html

Re: Embed SWF, Help needed ASAP

I just tried absolute paths in the XML and that worked.

Thank you very much this problem has done my head in for the last couple of days, i really appreciate the help smile
