Topic: Gallery not showing up

Hi there,

I recently switched to the new simpleviewer, and I created the galleries manually because the builder doesn't work on my computer. I just put the swf right into the html page in dreamweaver like I did with the older version, and it showed up when i tested it with f12, but when I uploaded it to the site, it says that there's an error and it doesnt show up. Any ideas?

thanks!

Re: Gallery not showing up

You should not use dreamweaver to embed the swf, try following the instructions in the link below.

Re: Gallery not showing up

thank you for your quick response, but I am not using the svbuilder since it won't work on my computer and i'm doing it manually, are there instructions on embedding for manual use?

Re: Gallery not showing up

Ignore steps 1 and 3, just copy the svCore folder from the simpleViewer download, your image and thumb folders and gallery.xml into the folder that has your gallery HTML file and add the code listed in the link I posted above to your HTML.

Re: Gallery not showing up

Okay, pasted the embed code from the instructions into the html, all the folders and gallery file is in the same folder, and now I am getting a black box where the gallery is, but that's all that's showing up, no images. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Gallery not showing up

Are you seeing the black box in Dreamweaver or a browser? Can you put the page online so that I can take a look?

In the browser. You can see it at http://www.scottsylvia.net

Re: Gallery not showing up

Did you upload all of the svCore folder? When I try to navigate to the simpleviewer.swf I get a 404 not found error.

Re: Gallery not showing up

Yes, the svcore folder is uploaded

Re: Gallery not showing up

Your SWF file seems to be located at http://www.scottsylvia.net/svcore/simpleviewer.swf whereas it should be located at http://www.scottsylvia.net/svcore/swf/simpleviewer.swf
Try deleting the 'svcore' folder from your web server and reupload it in its entirety (in this location: http://www.scottsylvia.net/svcore/) without making any modifications.

Re: Gallery not showing up

Okay, just downloaded it again and uploaded the full folder. Same problem still exists. hmm

Re: Gallery not showing up

Try clearing your browser's cache.
The gallery is now being displayed at: http://www.scottsylvia.net
However, you have crosses where the images should be.  This is likely to be caused by the imageURL and thumbURL entries in your 'gallery.xml' file pointing to non-existant files.
