Topic: Gallery not showing up in IE

My gallery doesn't show up in IE.  It works in Firefox & Safari on Mac & Windows, but not in IE.

PLEASE HELP!

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

You have some HTML errors that are probably causing some of the issue with IE. I would also suggest that you update your version of SimpleViewer from 2.1 to 2.1.2.

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

if I replace

   SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "669px", "550px", "000000", true );

with

   SV.simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', '000000', true );

Then the non flash version shows up, but I can't get the flash version to appear in windows at all.  Any suggestions?

Check you have Flash installed on your windows box: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

I do

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

Try removing the PX or upgrading to a newer version of SimpleViewer, you are using a older version that does not support it.

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

I already upgraded when you said that earlier. Sorry, guess I should have said that.

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

Did you clear your browser's cache after making the change, because it is now working in IE for me.

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

Opps, this is my first updated gallery and I hadn't uploaded the new svcore folder.

Taking out the "px" made the non-flash version come up in IE8 but the flash version comes up in IE6 now!  I guess I could have lived with that, but the update seems to have changed the way it works.

Now an index page comes up with all of the gallery images instead of the first image coming up.

How do I fix that?

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

Ok, fixed that problem, it was the "firstImageIndex" option.

Now if I can just get rid of the index button that is there, I can leave it for now.

Any help there?

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

What is this supposed to fix?

Re: Gallery not showing up in IE

Taking out the "px" made the non-flash version come up in IE8 but the flash version comes up in IE6 now!  I guess I could have lived with that, but the update seems to have changed the way it works.

It clears up most of the HTML errors so we know that, that isn't the issue with IE8. Unless you are using 64bit IE8 then you would just need to 64bit flash player.

Now an index page comes up with all of the gallery images instead of the first image coming up.
How do I fix that?

This is how the new version of the nonflash gallery looks.

Now if I can just get rid of the index button that is there, I can leave it for now.

Currently, the nonflash gallery does not have an option for removing the index button,  however if you edit the simpleviewer.css and display: none; to the .cls-topmenu-right, .cls-topmenu-left, .cls-topmenu-links { setction you can ide the menu. Make sure to clear your browser's cache after making the change.

svcore/css/simpleviewer.css
.

cls-topmenu-right, .cls-topmenu-left, .cls-topmenu-links {
  float: right;
  height: 38px;
  overflow: hidden;
  margin: 0;
  position: relative;
  background-color: #111;
  background: transparent url(../img/assets.png) no-repeat -10px -56px;
   display: none;
}
