Topic: Syntax error

I have installed Simple Viewer on my server, and created a simple gallery using SvBuilder. When I save the gallery it shows it properly on a local html page. When I move it to my web site and try the page I get a Syntax error on simpleviewer.js.

I have obviously done something wrong in setting ir up on my server. Have I misread the instructions on where to install Simple viewer?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Syntax error

Hi Mike, were you asking for the URL to the test page? If so, here it is.

www.cclcarecomputers.com/testpage

Re: Syntax error

Have you uploaded the 'svcore' folder to the location http://www.cclcarecomputers.com/svcore/?
Directing a browser to where the 'simpleviewer.js' file should be (http://www.cclcarecomputers.com/svcore/ … eviewer.js) gives an error 404 'File Not Found'.

Re: Syntax error

Hi Steven, I did have the whole simpleviewer folder at the same level. I have now put a copy of the svcore there and that does bring the viewer there but can't find the gallery.xml.

What components need to be at the same level as the html page. I am just not that familiar with simple viewer? Sorry about that.

Re: Syntax error

I have just checked you page and the gallery is displayed so you seem to have overcome the 'Gallery XML Not Found' message.
http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … #trouble_9

What components need to be at the same level as the html page.

If following the standard embedding instructions here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … html#embed
... taking note of instruction number 2.
An alternative would be to keep the gallery folder complete and separate.
You could then upload it where you like and follow these instructions: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external

Re: Syntax error

Thanks Steven, I did move a copy of the gallery.xml to the root where the svcore is and also the image folder. However, thia has knocked out my usual index page.

I'll have to work at it some more.

Thanks for your help

Re: Syntax error

You can rename the gallery's HTML index page from 'index.html' to anything you want.  Just remember to change any references to this page from links within other pages.
In svBuilder-Pro, the Index Page Name can be changed on the 'Publish' screen.

Re: Syntax error

I think I have it working now. Can I make the images open  larger?

Re: Syntax error

You cannot have the gallery open in fullscreen mode.
However, you can maximize the image size in the gallery by ensuring that maxImageWidth and maxImageHeight are set correctly.  Also, you can free up more space on the Flash stage by giving less space to other components (by perhaps having a 2x2 matrix of thumbnails rather than, say, 3x3).
You can also reduce the amount of padding between elements (check the Pro Options page and search for the several 'padding' options).
Also, if setting the gallery size absolutely in pixel values, the images will be shown larger if the size allotted to the images in the gallery has a similar aspect ratio to the images themselves.
