Topic: Live Data

Hey guys,

In the age of Twitter and Google Instant, I'd like to see the ability to update gallery.xml dynamically.

The simplest form would give me a jQuery call, like $('#container').refreshGallery().  More advanced features would let me add an image to the XML, perhaps passing in a jQuery object

$('#container').addImage({url: "http://some.url/foo.jpg", caption: "My caption", ...});

I'd be happy to code this for you, too, gratis.  I'd need something more than the minified js that ships with simpleviewer pro ;-)

Re: Live Data

There are already some dynamic scripts out there I would suggest to do a forum search or take a look at the BuildGallery Script.

Re: Live Data

Hmm

I'm suggesting a way to incrementally change the gallery *after* it has been loaded, then have the display adjust incrementally.  Think of inserting or deleting pictures while the viewer is being used.

Re: Live Data

I do not think it will be possible to add new images without reloading the gallery, because the flash only looks for the XML when the gallery first loads.
