Topic: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

I had been using the SV skin for Jalbum, and really like the skin, and thought it was worth the upgrade to pro (in addition to getting over the 50 image limit).

I just bought it, and have found some options to be less than those offered in the jalbum skin, but this is the biggest wish. hoping someone can help me with this:

background image:

I want to be able to tile in the x-axis, with the image centered.

thanks

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

additional question:

I seem to have lost the x/xx number that used to be below the thumbnail navigation option. If someone can point out where the toggle is to turn it back on, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

The jAlbum skin can be upgrdaed to SimpleViewer Pro by replacing the 'svcore' folder in the skin files:
skins/SimpleViewer/folder/simpleviewer/svcore
... with the 'svcore' folder from the SimpleViewer Pro download package:
simpleviewer_pro_212/web/svcore

Once this has been done, all albums created by jAlbum will use the Pro files.
However, all Pro Options will have to be entered manually by editing the skin file 'xml.htt' in a plain text editor and adding the options immediately after '<simpleviewergallery ' on line 200.

If you wish to convert any albums that have already been created by jAlbum, then replace the 'svcore' folder in:
output_directory/res/simpleviewer/svcore
... with the Pro 'svcore' folder and edit the output 'gallery.xml' files to add any Pro Options.

However, if you just wish to have a CSS background tiled in the x-axis, you could make your gallery's background transparent:
http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … ml#embed_6
... and add something like the following code to your HTML index page's <head> section:

<style type="text/css">
    body
    {
        background-image: url("background/image.jpg");
        background-position: center center;
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
    }
</style>

The x/xx image numbers can be displayed by setting showImageNumber="TRUE".

In svBuilder-Pro, this can be found in the 'Customize -> Caption' section.

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

awesome, that did the trick.

next question, and I'll preface this by saying that i'm not familiar at all with web building.. I haven't created a web page since the EARLY html days, creating my web page in notepad, and Mosaic was the latest and greatest web browser.. tongue

I'm using a wordpress template for my new page (www.ikonique.com), and I'm using svbuilder to create separate pages of galleries for different events (like here , where there's just too many pictures for me to want to do it through wordpress). so far so good.

in the "galleries" portion though, I'd like to have more selective pictures that would be inserted into the WP template, and i'm running into a few problems (see linky for example of problem):

1. The SV flash object is clipping the dropdown menu from the WP template. I've read a little about this, and apparently I have to set some wmode setting? is this something that is done within SV, or with the WP template / files? If it's done in SV, can you tell me how?

2. The SV builder has a lot more options, and a LOT more user friendly than the WP-plugin, and thus, I'd prefer to generate the "gallery" portion with SVbuilder and insert it into the WP page. I am reading the embeddment help page (using baseURL), and I think I get most of it, but where do I insert the start/end embeddment block? here?

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

1) You need to set the gallery background to be transparent (which automatically sets the 'wmode' parameter to 'transparent' for you).
In svBuilder-Pro, select the 'Background Transparent' checkbox in the 'Embed Options' on the 'Customize' page.
See here for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … ml#embed_5

2) Your screenshot looks like you are using the WP-SimpleViewer WordPress Plugin.
This is not required if you are using svBuilder-Pro to create your galleries.
Create your gallery with svBuilder-Pro, upload the entire gallery folder somewhere, create a post in WordPress, change the method of entry from 'Visual' to 'HTML' and paste/type the embedding code into the body of the post (in place of the [simpleviewer] tag in your screenshot).

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

I tried to insert the code into WP using the HTML tab:

image link

the highlighted is confirmed to the the correct baseURL per the embedment instructions, but the test page is showing that there's no gallery XML found?

pointers sought.. smile

Re: Just bought SVpro, issues with background

Your test page does not use currently use the baseURL option.
At the moment, your embedding code is:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.--><br />
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ikonique.com/svtest/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script><br />
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true );
});
</script></p>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<p><!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Try this instead:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ikonique.com/svtest/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="http://www.ikonique.com/svtest/";
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

An alternative would be to use an <iframe> (such as below) instead of the above embedding code:

<iframe src="http://www.ikonique.com/svtest/index.html" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
