Topic: Cannot parse gallery xml

hi there, and thank you very much in advance for any help! i love SimpleViewer -- it is working perfectly locally, and was working online too until i added a few new images. i modified the XML and added the images and now... i'm getting the "Cannot Parse Gallery XML" error message. i've revised and revised my code and opened the XML in a browser and just don't see a problem.

here is SimpleViewer on my site, working fine, WITHOUT the new code: http://alexandraschmidt.com/art/art.html

and here is the new XML that is not working when i upload to the site:

Re: Cannot parse gallery xml

I have tried the code you posted in a test gallery and it worked OK. I did not receive a 'Cannot Parse Gallery XML' message.
If you have a malformed XML file, try opening it directly in a browser.  The browser (Firefox, at least) will tell you at what line and character the error occurs.
Another reason for receiving the message would be to have a duplicate configuration option (though it appears that you do not have one).
Please see here for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … #trouble_9
If you continue to experience difficulties, please upload the troublesome XML file and post a URL to the non-working gallery so that we can take a look.

Re: Cannot parse gallery xml

Hi there - Thank you very much for your response.
It's been a while but I am finally getting around to this again, and am having the same problem.
Take a look:

Again, have looked at the code and just cannot figure out why this is happening.
Thanks again!!

Re: Cannot parse gallery xml

Your XML file at http://alexandraschmidt.com/art/gallery.xml is incomplete.
It ends half way through an opening <image> tag.
Perhaps the upload was interrupted and the file on your web server was left corrupt.
Make sure that the XML file is complete (ending in a closing </simpleviewergallery> tag) and try re-uploading it to your web server.

Re: Cannot parse gallery xml

Thank you!! It now recognizes the XML. However, there appear to be a couple of images in the gallery not being recognized.
The thing that is strange about all this is that I am uploading a gallery that works perfectly locally, but then once it gets onto my site, things start to get messed up...

Re: Cannot parse gallery xml

Going directly in a browser to one of the images that does not display, such as:
http://alexandraschmidt.com/art/images/instal2.jpg
... displays the message:

The image “http://alexandraschmidt.com/art/images/instal2.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Try re-uploading the image to your web server.
