Topic: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Afternoon Chaps.

I'm dying to use this flash photo gallery with my photography website. Now i'm using iWeb 08 and am having all sorts of problems, resloved half of them and now every time i insert the html snippet its asking me to update my flash/java player, i've done this and still it's coming up with the same error?

Help?

Thanks

Mark.

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Make sure you also upload all the necessary gallery files to the correct locations.
If you continue to experience difficulties, please post a URL to your gallery so that we can take a look.

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Morning, thanks for the reply.

I'm still not having any luck this is what i've done so far:

My website: www.markkemp.co.uk

The HTML code

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Looking at your code, the files 'swfobject.js', 'TiltViewer.swf' and 'gallery.xml' should be in your 'Home Files' directory alongside your 'widget1_markup.html' file.
Check that they are there.

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

The three files weren't located in my Home_Files. So I've now added them to the folder and re-embeded my HTML into iweb, and yet again nothing?

I've posted a print screen to flickr, to double check if i'm in the correct place?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mwkphotography/5643090757/

If you could possibly have a look and get back to, it would be much appreciated.

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

As far as I noticed, you want to use pictures from flickr?

Then it should look like this:
==============================
      //FLICKR GALLERY OPTIONS
        //To use images from Flickr, uncomment this block
        fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "true");
        fo.addVariable("user_id", "51754354@N06");
        fo.addVariable("tags", "jump,smile");
        fo.addVariable("tag_mode", "all");
        fo.addVariable("showTakenByText", "true");

        //XML GALLERY OPTIONS
        //To use local images defined in an XML document, use this block
        //fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "false");
        //fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "gallery.xml");
        //fo.addVariable("maxJPGSize","640");

If you don't want to use flickr (pictures are on your own website,
it should look like this:
==============================
      //FLICKR GALLERY OPTIONS
        //To use images from Flickr, uncomment this block
        //fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "true");
        //fo.addVariable("user_id", "51754354@N06");
        //fo.addVariable("tags", "jump,smile");
        //fo.addVariable("tag_mode", "all");
        //fo.addVariable("showTakenByText", "true");

        //XML GALLERY OPTIONS
        //To use local images defined in an XML document, use this block
        fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "false");
        fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "gallery.xml");
        fo.addVariable("maxJPGSize","640");

Your code from your second post mixes useing/not useing flickr,
maybe that's the reason for your trouble?

Regards,
Roland

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Rowland, gone through my code again. Added this into my HTML snippet and still get the same error.
really confused now, any ideas?

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

Try commenting out the options involving Flickr tags by adding a leading // to the lines, ie:

        fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "true");
        fo.addVariable("user_id", "51754354@N06");
        // fo.addVariable("tags", "jump,smile");
        // fo.addVariable("tag_mode", "all");
        fo.addVariable("showTakenByText", "true");

These are the default sample settings and your images are probably not tagged with the words 'jump' and 'smile' which is why no images are being displayed in your gallery.

My apologies Roland.

Steven, i've taken out the tags which now send my whole flickr photostream into tiltviewer.
A superb piece of Flash.

now just to fine tune a few things

Thanks Again

Re: iWeb 08 with Tiltviewer

hi Guys,

totally confused by this as mine html just doesn't work....
i've inserted the html snippet onto my iweb page and then put in the code tiltviewer has provided....its just not working.

Am I supposed to be adding files onto my server, if so which ones? I've put the swf tiltviewer form onto my server and the snippet link works fine...with someone elses flickr pics.

If I want to use my flickr pics,
1)what html code should I use,
2) what files should I place on my server from the Tiltviewer download..

thanks
