Topic: Mobile Back Button

Hi All,

I am having trouble with adding a simple "Back" button to the mobile version of the simpleviewer pro. When doing so I've used one of the code snippets posted on here which just made the gallery look all out of whack. There is a back button option in the non-mobile version, is there not an option to do the same thing in the mobile version?

Thanks,

Re: Mobile Back Button

The Back Button options are for the Flash Player only.
There are few options available for the Mobile Player: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#mobile_1

Try overlaying a standard HTML hyperlink on top of the gallery.
In your HTML page, use the following code in the <head> section:

<style type="text/css">
  #overlay {
    position: absolute;
    top: 10px;
    left: 10px;
    z-index: 99;
  }
</style>

... and use the following code in the <body> section:

<div id="overlay">
  <a href="../index.html">Link Text Goes Here</a>
</div>

Make your gallery background transparent and this will work for both the Flash and Mobile Players.

Re: Mobile Back Button

Steven,

I have tried this solution, but to no avail it has made the mobile browser simpleviewer look smaller than it was. Like it is somehow in a different mode. You never experienced this when others used this solution?

Re: Mobile Back Button

I do not think I have seen what you are describing.
Please post a URL to your gallery so that I can take a look.

Re: Mobile Back Button

Open this gallery in your iPhone mobile safari browser, and you will see how the overlay messes up the gallery.

Open this gallery in your iPhone mobile safari browser, and you will see how it looks correct without the overlay.

Thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Re: Mobile Back Button

Crap, I guess I was mistaken. I tried this same code I found in an older forum post before, and it made it look all crazy like. But now it seems to be working fine!

Re: Mobile Back Button

Hi, I just stumbled across the same problem. Luckily the #overlay solution works, but it renders the showBackButton option useless, though. Do you plan to implement the back button in the mobile version of SV? And, is there any documentation of what is not working in the mobile version of SV?
Thanks,

It does, however, work for both the Flash and the Mobile Players so may be a suitable (and universal) workaround.

I do not know what features are likely to be added in future versions but the please post feature requests in this forum so that they are not overlooked.

And, is there any documentation of what is not working in the mobile version of SV?

The only options available for the Mobile Player can be found here.
The other options found on the SimpleViewer-Pro Config Options page (other than the 'title' and a few of the Embed Options, eg. backgroundColor, galleryWidth, galleryHeight) are for the Flash Player only.

True, I'm implementing it right now in my galleries and it looks OK.

That's important info, thanks!

Re: Mobile Back Button

Steven, I am using the overlay method you desribed with success. However, am I correct that it does not work in Full Screen mode on mobile devices?

Here is my example:
http://www.skyredoubt.com/gallery.php?c … lery=faces

Here is the code:

        <div id="overlay">
          <a href="../photography.html"><img src="../images/LINKS/back.gif" alt="Back"></a>
        </div>
        <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/simpleviewer_213/web/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
        <!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
        <script type="text/javascript">
        var flashvars = {};
        flashvars.presetURL="galleries/galleryPreset.xml";
        <? echo "flashvars.galleryURL = 'galleries/" . $gallery . ".xml';\n"; ?>
        $(document).ready(function () {
        <? echo "SV.simpleviewer.load('sv-container2','100%', '100%', '000000', true, flashvars);\n";?>
        });
        </script>
        <div id="sv-container2">
        </div>
        <!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Thanks in advance

Re: Mobile Back Button

For the 'overlay' back button to work in Full Window mode in the Mobile Player, place the code in my post above in your gallery's 'svcore/full.html' page as well as your gallery's index.html' page.
