Topic: trouble with gallery in word press

I have in the past used an iframe to show my galleries on my word press pages.  I have noticed yesterday that my galleries are no longer working.
I have upgraded my wp-plugin and followed all the instructions.  But I am having trouble getting any of the methods to work.  I have tried all the different ways to embed and still no luck.
I would prefer to have a absolute path.  I have folders set up with galleries inside and I would like to direct to those folders.  As I have done in the past.  I use your manager program to update my galleries and I would like to stay that way.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My site is http://www.ericaculver.com
Right now my gallery pages are completely down.  I have been working on this page http://www.ericaculver.com/belly-shots/
Thanks for any help

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

The problem with the 'belly-shots' gallery is that SimpleViewer is expecting the gallery's XML file to be called 'gallery.xml' and to be located in the same folder as the HTML page (default settings).
However, the XML file is not located there.
You can point SimpleViewer towards the XML file by using the galleryURL option: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … .html#html
Your embedding code would become:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.galleryURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/gallery.xml";
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

thanks for the quick feedback.
I replaced the code and I am just getting two broken link pics on the page

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

am I missing something?  Should I be pasting some code within my wp theme?  I am putting the code only in the html of a page.

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

I have upgraded my wp-plugin and followed all the instructions.

Are you using WP-SimpleViewer to create your galleries?
If so, then there should be no need to alter the embedding code that is automatically generated by the plugin.

I have folders set up with galleries inside and I would like to direct to those folders.

If you are creating your galleries by other means and uploading the gallery folders, then you can embed the galleries in a WordPress post using one of these 2 methods.

The imageURL entries in your XML file should be either absolute or relative to the page containing the embedding code and, at present, they are not.
Being that your gallery folder is self-contained, use a baseURL instead of a galleryURL to point to the gallery folder.
Please see here for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external
Your embedding code should become:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/";
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

Im not using the plugin because I like the control in the manager.
I build my galleries in svbuilder pro- then save them into a folder.
so are  you saying that in the gallery.xlm page the paths of the images need to be like this
<image imageURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/photos/belly_shots_6_1.jpg"
instead of
<image imageURL="photos/belly_shots_6_1.jpg"
can I change this in the svbuilder pro?or do I have to hand do each picture?  I changed one but I am still getting gallery xml not found.
Sorry and thank you for your time and help!

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

You could change the imageURL entries to absolute paths like the one you suggested.
However, being that you are uploading the gallery folder in its entirety, you can embed the gallery using a baseURL in the embedding code without having to change any paths that svBuilder-Pro creates.
Try leaving your gallery's XML file the way it was, use the baseURL embedding code I posted in my last post and clear your browser's cache before reloading the gallery.

k did that and I am still getting gallery xml not found?

Re: trouble with gallery in word press

I notice you are using SimpleViewer v2.1.1.
You could either:

(1) Upgrade to the latest version v2.1.3.
Upgrades are free within the same major version number so you can download SimpleViewer Pro v2.1.3 by using the link in your purchase email.
Then replace the 'svcore' folder in your gallery with the 'svcore' folder from the SimpleViewer Pro download package ('simpleviewer_pro_213/web/svcore/') and use the following embedding code:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

... or...

(2) Replace your existing embedding code with the following to set the variable 'svCoreURL' (which was a requirement prior to v2.1.2):

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript">
var svCoreURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/svcore/";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="http://www.ericaculver.com/belly/";
jQuery(document).ready(function () {
SV.simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
