Topic: "cannot parse gallery xml" straight from svBuilder

I'm getting the "cannot parse gallery xml" message.

I did not modify the xml file at all, it is straight from svBuilder. I've researched two days, without success. I'm at wits end.

Here's the URL: http://www.dgbride.com/index.php/base/wedding-walk

xml file: http://www.dgbride.com/gallery/gallery.xml

I'd be very grateful for any help. Thanks!

Re: "cannot parse gallery xml" straight from svBuilder

Your gallery at http://www.dgbride.com/index.php/base/wedding-walk is looking for a 'gallery.xml' file in the same directory.
However, the XML file does not exist here and your website redirects what would otherwise be an error 404 file not found (resulting in a 'Gallery XML Not Found.' message) to another HTML page which SimpleViewer cannot parse as an XML file (hence the error message you receive).
Change your embedding code from:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="/gallery/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
        simpleviewer.ready(function () {
        simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', '222222', true);
    });
    </script>
    <div id="sv-container"></div>
<!--END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

... to:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="/gallery/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
        var flashvars={};
        flashvars.baseURL="/gallery/";
        simpleviewer.ready(function () {
        simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', '222222', true, flashvars);
    });
    </script>
    <div id="sv-container"></div>
<!--END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

... using a baseURL to point SimpleViewer towards the gallery folder.

Re: "cannot parse gallery xml" straight from svBuilder

Thank you very much for your timely response!! This solved the problem.

I had already attempted using flashvars but apparently did not have everything correctly written.

Needing to embed this gallery into a certain existing page is not exactly 'simple' for someone who doesn't have much coding skills, but this product has a reliable support forum which is very important.

Thanks!
