Topic: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hi there!

I'm using Wordpress as a blog platform and was looking for a plugin, that fits several features:
1. User-friendly interface for creating and maintaining galleries.
2. Availability of multiple galleries insert into a post without thumbnails, but with navigation like dots.
3. Autoplay for slideshow.

To be honest, I didn't think, that my requirements are so sophisticated and paying $45 I supposed to get these basic features. Now, I can't do nothing of it. Am I mistaken about the features of your plugin and uprading it with SimpleViewer Pro? In another way, I'd like to know, how to turn my money back.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

(1) The interface for setting the gallery options can be found by clicking 'Add SimpleViewer Gallery' or the SimpleViewer 'eye' icon button. The interface includes all SimpleViewer Standard Options (which WP-SimpleViewer comes bundled with) and a text area to enter any SimpleViewer Pro Options for users who have upgraded WP-SimpleViewer from Standard to Pro.

(2) To insert multiple galleries in a single post, use svBuilder-Pro to create your galleries, upload the gallery folders to your web server and embed them in a post using one of these two embedding methods, ensuring that, when entering the embedding code, that the method of entry is 'HTML' rather than 'Visual'.

To create a gallery without thumbnails, set thumbPosition="NONE"
In WP-SimpleViewer, this option can be found in the gallery options window.
In svBuilder-Pro, this option can be found under 'Customize -> Standard'.

The image navigation buttons can be changed via the imageNavStyle option. Possible options are CURSOR, BIG, CIRCLE, SQUARE, CLASSIC and TRIANGLE.
In WP-SimpleViewer, enter imageNavStyle="CURSOR" (or the button style of your choice) into the 'Pro Options' text area in the gallery options window.
In svBuilder-Pro, this option can be found under 'Customize -> Image Overlay'.

(3) For an automated slideshow, set autoPlayOnLoad="TRUE"
In WP-SimpleViewer, enter autoPlayOnLoad="TRUE" into the 'Pro Options' text area in the gallery options window.
In svBuilder-Pro, this option can be found under 'Customize -> Autoplay'.

SimpleViewer Pro offers a money back guarantee. Please see here for details.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello!

Thanks for your answer, but it still seems not so clear. So, could you create an instruction "Embedding multiple galleries in one post using SimpleViewer"?

What I did?
1. I created 2 galleries in svBuilder. They have the following structure:
[images] folder
[svcore] folder
[thumbs] folder
gallery.xml
index.html

2. Any WP-blog has the same structure:
[wp-admin]
[wp-content]
[wp-includes]

What is the exact folder I should upload all the files, created by svBuilder to? Do I need to copy all the files, even index.html?

I guess, I should be uploaded somewhere in [wp-content], but where? Plugins > WP-SimpleViewer? Themes? Uploads > Gallery1?

3. I've tried to upload all the files to http:/urbanurban.ru/www/wp-content/uploads/gallery1/. Then I've embedded several codes.

For example:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.galleryURL="http://www.urbanurban.ru/www/wp-content/uploads/gallery1/1.xml";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "222222", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

and

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/www/wp-content/uploads/gallery1/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars = {};
flashvars.baseURL = "http://www.urbanurban.ru/www/wp-content … /gallery1/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "222222", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

But while preview, I see "Gallery XML not found". Nothing is working.

Please, give me, step-by-step guidelines. I do really like, how your gallery looks like in post and I would like to embed it in my post, finally.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

What is the exact folder I should upload all the files, created by svBuilder to?

You can upload the gallery folders created by svBuilder-Pro anywhere on your web server.
For the purpose of the following example, say you have two gallery folders named 'gallery1' and 'gallery2'.
(1) Upload the gallery folders to the root of your web server so that they exist here:
http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/
http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/
(2) Create a new post in WordPress and select 'HTML' (rather than 'Visual') as the method of input
(3) To embed both galleries in the same post, insert the following embedding code into the body of the post:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars1={};
flashvars1.baseURL="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container1", "600", "600", "222222", true, flashvars1);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container1"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars2={};
flashvars2.baseURL="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container2", "600", "600", "222222", true, flashvars2);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container2"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Do I need to copy all the files, even index.html?

You need the 'index.html' files within the gallery folders only if you choose to use the <iframe> method of embedding the galleries in the WordPress post.
If using the <iframe> method, replace the above code with the following:

<iframe src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/index.html" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
<iframe src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/index.html" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Steven,

I followed all your guideline, but I only see "Gallery XML not found". What may it caused?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

And one more thing. I've tried the "Flickr method", but the problem is that when I'm trying to insert gallery, I'm just clicking on "Add gallery" at the bottom of pop-up window and happens nothing, I can't insert a gallery to a post.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Ok, I succeed in "Adding Gallery" to post after clicking maybe 50 times on the button (only works in Google Chrome, not Firefox), but while previewing I'm facing some problems (you can see my attempt here http://urbanurban.ru/2011/07/27/395/):

1 gallery. I insert my flickr name 65450599@N08 and tag 201107192 and the result is Flickr User not found
2 gallery. I insert my flickr name oatmeal_apples and tag 201107192 and the result is Flickr Images not found.

So, this type of embedding also not working smile

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

1 gallery. I insert my flickr name 65450599@N08 and tag 201107192 and the result is Flickr User not found

65450599@N08 is your Flickr User ID, not your Flickr Username - use oatmeal_apples instead.

2 gallery. I insert my flickr name oatmeal_apples and tag 201107192 and the result is Flickr Images not found.

Recently tagged images can take a while (sometimes up to 48 hours) to propagate through Flickr's system to appear in API searches.
See this page for further details: http://www.flickr.com/help/tags/
Try temporarily removing the tag option and use only your Flickr Username to see if any images are displayed in the gallery.
If so, then try reinstating the tag option and try your gallery again later.
Also, make sure that your images are public and not private.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello, Steven!

It seems like this story is endless smile.

I succeed in creating gallery with Flickr method, and it could be fine result, but... while embedding a gallery with a flash I don't like it's floating arrows, but mostly I liked how a gallery without flash looks loke (and would like to use it in all posts), but there is a problem.

In gallery settings I put "Thumb Position" — none, "Thumbnail Rows" — 0, "Thumbnail Columns" — 0. But the gallery starts with thumbnails. You can see it here: http://urbanurban.ru/2011/07/27/395/, gallery #2. And there is also Thumbnail Button, that I'd like to remove also. So, just photos with fixed arrows and no flash. Why it's so difficult ti do this simple thing?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

In order to remove the thumbnails in the Flash Player, set thumbPosition="NONE".
In order to remove the thumbnails in the Mobile Player, set mobileShowThumbs="FALSE" (Pro-only Option not available in SimpleViewer Standard).

I liked how a gallery without flash looks loke (and would like to use it in all posts)

In order to force the Mobile Player to be used to display the gallery (even if the user's browser has Adobe Flash Player installed and enabled), set the 'Use Flash' embed code parameter to 'FALSE' by deselected the 'Use Flash' checkbox in the gallery options pop-up window.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello, Steven!

Thanks for your help, but actually I would like to know, finally, how to embed gallery, using svBuilder-Pro. You haven't answered my yesterday's post about "Gallery XML not found".

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

And one more question.

Thanks to your guidelines, I got the desirable view, but I would like to add looping.
I tried to modify the Pro Options code ingallery settings and tried the following code:

mobileShowThumbs="FALSE",enableLooping="TRUE"

and after saving, the total record is missing. I also tried enableLooping="TRUE", it remains after saving, but looping is not working.

So, how to use these two functions? Maybe another code?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

You haven't answered my yesterday's post about "Gallery XML not found".

Please post the URL to your gallery which is displaying the 'Gallery XML Not Found.' message.
In the meantime, please see this FAQ: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … #trouble_6

So, how to use these two functions?

enableLooping is a Flash Player option which is not available in the Mobile Player.
The options available to the Mobile Player can be found here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … tml#mobile

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello, Steven!

I understand about looping function, but is it possible to organise photos in gallery in a precise order? So, I uploaded some photos to flickr and thought, that they will display it order I uploaded them like 1, 2, 3, 4. But they perform like 4, 2, 3, 1. How to avoid it?

As to embedded gallery, the post is here: http://urbanurban.ru/2011/07/29/384/. "Gallery XML not found".
The folders for galleries are situated in http://urbanurban.ru/gallery1 and http://urbanurban.ru/gallery2.

The code is as you suggested:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars1={};
flashvars1.baseURL="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery1/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container1", "600", "600", "222222", true, flashvars1);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container1"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars2={};
flashvars2.baseURL="http://www.urbanurban.ru/gallery2/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container2", "600", "600", "222222", true, flashvars2);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container2"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

That's it.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

With regard to the Flickr image order, use the flickrSort Pro Option as described in this section: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … tml#flickr
In order to change the order of images in a Flickr Photo Set, please see this FAQ: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … #general_6

The galleries do not seem to be located in the 'gallery1' or 'gallery2' folders.
There should be a file named 'gallery.xml' in each of the gallery folders and neither http://urbanurban.ru/gallery1/gallery.xml nor http://urbanurban.ru/gallery2/gallery.xml exist.

Also, you posted your links as http://urbanurban.ru (and going to http://www.urbanurban.ru in a browser redirects to http://urbanurban.ru) but your embedding code uses http://www.urbanurban.ru
Once you have the galleries sorted out, try changing the URLs in your embedding code to http://urbanurban.ru

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello, again!

Frankly speaking, I'm a little bit tired of the fact, that SimpleViewer Pro is not working properly. In my case, I should say, it doesn't work at all, because I can't do things, which I want to.

I had very simple goal, I thought — to insert multiple galleries in post with a simple interface, like arrows and pics count. That's it! And that's why, when I saw, how SimpleViewer Pro look like, I paid $45 to meet my goals.

But, as you can see from our previous conversation, that still nothing is working. And I write you again in hope to make SimpleViewer work properly.

I still, can't succeed in using svBuilder — galleries are not shown.
And don't know, why the tag mobileShowThumbs="FALSE" while using Flickr-based gallery isn't working. How to fix it? Could you help me with this at least?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

I still, can't succeed in using svBuilder — galleries are not shown.

At its most basic, to embed a gallery created by svBuilder-Pro in a WordPress post:
(1) Create a gallery using svBuilder-Pro
(2) Upload the complete gallery folder (not just the contents) to your web server
(3) Create a new WordPress post and insert the following code into the body of the post (ensuring that the method of entry is 'HTML' rather than 'Visual')

<iframe src="http://www.example.com/gallery/index.html" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

... with the 'src' attribute pointing towards your own gallery's HTML index page (the 'index.html' file within the gallery folder).

And don't know, why the tag mobileShowThumbs="FALSE" while using Flickr-based gallery isn't working. How to fix it?

Using mobileShowThumbs="FALSE" in your gallery's XML file is all that is required to have the gallery go straight to the first image (rather than display the grid of thumbnails) when the Mobile Player (as opposed to the Flash Player) is used to display the gallery (whether the gallery is sourced by local of Flickr images), eg:

<simpleviewergallery
    useFlickr="TRUE"
    flickrUserName="your_Flickr_username"
    mobileShowThumbs="FALSE"
>

If this does not work for you, try clearing your browser's cache before reloading the gallery. Otherwise, please post the URL to your gallery so that we can take a look.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

So, here are some details.

I published test post, with the gallery http://urbanurban.ru/2011/05/20/test-gallery/. Also, I attach the screenshot with the gallery options http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8410/2 … enshot.jpg. As you can see, when the image source is Flickr and in the field Pro Options mobileShowThumbs="FALSE" are included, it start showing gallery with thumbnails.

So, what to do?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Thank you for providing the URL and screenshot.
Your gallery is a SimpleViewer-Standard (free version) gallery and mobileShowThumbs is a SimpleViewer-Pro Option.
In order for your gallery to use the mobileShowThumbs Pro Option, you will need to upgrade WP-SimpleViewer from Standard to Pro by following the instructions here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … iewer/#pro

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Hello, again!

I was happy shortly. I added a new gallery to this post: http://urbanurban.ru/2011/01/15/jan-gehl/ and it's written: No Images Specified in Gallery XML. No gallery. Again. Just tell me, what am I doing wrong, because if to compare settings for two galleries, one of them is ok, and this one, they are the same! The settings for this gallery you can see there: http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3440 … 120118.jpg

So, what's wrong?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Have you edited the gallery's XML file manually?
The only <image> entry in the file: http://urbanurban.ru/wp-content/uploads/38.xml
... is:

<image imageURL="http://urbanurban.ru/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/2012-01-18-Jan-Gehl.jpg" thumbURL="" imageLinkURL="http://urbanurban.ru/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/2012-01-18-Jan-Gehl.jpg" imageLinkTarget="">

The thumbURL entry is empty and you have attributes imageLinkURL and imageLinkTarget which should be linkURL and linkTarget respectively.

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

No, I hadn't.

First I uploaded 4 pics to Flickr with a tag 20120118. Then, I inserted SimpleViewer gallery to the post, with the setting as in screenshot I sent you. That's it!

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

If using Flickr as the image source, the <image> tags should actually be irrelevant.
If you have recently tagged your Flickr images, it may take some time for the tags to propagate through Flickr's system and show up in API searches (such as that performed by SimpleViewer to fetch the images from Flickr's servers).
Please see the FAQ entitled 'Why aren't my photos appearing in searches or groups?' on this Flickr help page: http://www.flickr.com/help/tags/#2855

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

None of these issues are relevant for my case. What else can it be?

Re: Couldn't find three simple features in SimpleViewer Pro

Removing the flickrTags option from your gallery's XML file displays all your images.
Going to this Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/65450599@N08/tags/
... typing in '20120118' into the 'Jump to:' text field and clicking 'Go' return the following message:

UrbanUrban_ru doesn't have anything tagged with 20120118, but other people do.

Please check that the tags on your photos match the flickrTags option in your gallery's XML file.
