Topic: presetURL

Hi,
I have tried to use the FlashVar presetURL in SV Wordpress plugin in the pro option's textfield as follows:

flashvars.presetURL="http://www.simone-weyand.de/preset.xml"

As you can determine yourself, the URL is correct. Yet, the gallery at http://simone-weyand.de/wordpress-test/ doesn't use the xml file but renders instead using the standard options ("compact").
Is it possible at all to use FlashVars in the plugin's pro options? Or am I misunderstanding anything regarding the absolute path?

EDIT: I also tried

flashvars.presetURL="http://www.simone-weyand.de/preset.xml";

- didn't work either.

Cheers

Re: presetURL

Try entering the following into the Pro Options text area:

presetURL="http://www.simone-weyand.de/preset.xml"

... or, failing that:

presetURL="http://simone-weyand.de/preset.xml"

However, please bear in mind that the Pro Options text area is for entering XML options in the form:
optionName = "optionValue"
presetURL is a Flashvar option which should be set in the embedding HTML code via the flashvars parameter.
You could include your presetURL Flashvar option (which would be applied to all galleries created by WP-SimpleViewer) by including the following line of code at line 824 of the file 'wordpress_folder/wp-content/plugins/wp-simpleviewer/wp-simpleviewer.php'.

flashvars$gallery_id.presetURL = "http://www.simone-weyand.de/preset.xml";

Re: presetURL

Hi Steven,

thanks for your help.
I tried all of the mentioned possibilities, yet I always get "preset xml not found" on the gallery's page, even with the flashvar in wp-simpleviewer.php
Of course, I can ask the user to copy & paste the whole list of configs into the options field every time she wants to add a gallery. But the ideal scenario is to have the galleries automatically rendered in the right way and I thought the flashvar "presetURL" would do it.
Maybe you have another suggestion for me how I could accomplish my goal.

Re: presetURL

Your 'preset.xml' file starts with the tag <simpleviewerpreset>.
Try changing this to <simpleviewergallery>.

Also, the link you provided to your web page is 'simone-weyand.de' and 'www.simone-weyand.de' redirects to 'simone-weyand.de' so try defining your presetURL path using 'simone-weyand.de' rather than 'www.simone-weyand.de'.

Re: presetURL

Hi Steven,

I changed <simpleviewerpreset> to <simpleviewergallery> and edited the presetURL as suggested. This results in a displayed gallery, yeah! Yet, the display differs visually completely from what I get locally with my copy of SVBuilder Pro. The preset.xml is the file I saved with svBuilder. Maybe the data in it doesn't work completely with the WP plugin? Could you have a look into the xml file and tell me please whether the data is OK for the plugin?
I am sorry if I'm stretching your patience ...

EDIT: the difference is particulary the thumbnail size: I defined width and height being 20px long each.

Re: presetURL

Please see this note regarding Presets: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … ml#presets

Presets only affect options that relate to gallery appearance, not gallery content. The following options are not affected by presets: Local image data, Flickr search options, title, audioURL, backgroundURL.

Local image data includes the dimensions of the thumbanails and images. thumbWidth and thumbHeight should be entered in the galleryURL XML file rather than the presetURL XML file.

Re: presetURL

Thanks, Steven, now I understand the "gallery content" part. I will put thumbWidth and thumbHeight into the pro options field of the gallery, that'll do along with the external presets.
svBuilder is a brilliant tool, btw.!
