Topic: Embedding player into a Content Management System

Hi,

We're currently using the SimpleViewer 2.0.3 in our CMS, which works great.

However, we'd like to use the latest version 2.1.3 so that we can use the mobile compatible version. The problem is that this version appears to be strict on where the .js files are located.

Our CMS automatically saved files into their own folder types, like this:

http://domain/img/image.jpg
http://domain/swf/simpleviewer.swf
http://domain/js/swfobject.js
http://domain/xml/gallery.xml

I'm a little confused as to how we can embed all the components correctly? I can host the svcore folder to an external host and reference that in the embed code, but we could like the XML file to be hosted inside the CMS.

Is there anyway to do this?

Thanks

Re: Embedding player into a Content Management System

Are you perhaps able to upload the 'svcore' folder to your web server using an FTP program such as Filezilla in order to keep the 'svcore' folder structure intact?
As you have discovered, the 'simpleviewer.js' file within the 'svcore' folder refrences other 'svcore' files with relative paths and this process will break if the files are split up into folders based on file type.

Hmmm, not able to do that. Might have to use an iFrame, or stick with the older version.

Many thanks

Re: Embedding player into a Content Management System

Actually, is this this issue solvable in Simpleviewer pro by chance?

Re: Embedding player into a Content Management System

No. The methods of embedding a SimpleViewer Pro gallery are exactly the same as those for SimpleViewer Standard.
In fact, one of the easiest ways to convert a SimpleViewer Standard gallery to SimpleViewer Pro is to replace the entire Standard 'svcore' folder in the gallery with the 'svcore' folder from the Pro download package.
