Topic: Upgrade issue - Pro v1 to v2

My old Simpleviewer-Pro v1 gallery has been working great, but I recently purchased Simpleviewer-Pro v2, and am trying to upgrade.

I came across a problem, in which the HTTP Referer header is not sent by Flash when running on Firefox (Chrome for instance, populates the Referer header with the URL of the Simpleviewer SWF). My hosting server has hotlink protection that requires both (1) the Referer field to be present, and (2) it to be set properly to a URL in the same domain.

Since Firefox does not send the Referer, I had to work around it. In v1.9 I fixed it by customizing the Simpleviewer source, which at the time, was distributed with each Pro purchase. I altered the Actionscript to modify the request headers in a way that bypassed the hotlink protection.

I came to v2 assuming I could do the same, but lo and behold, the source code is no longer included in a Pro purchase. So now I'm stuck. Turning off hotlink protection is unfortunately not an option at the moment. I have searched the documentation high and low for any option like "forceSendReferer" or anything similar, but came up with nothing.

What should I do? Is there any way to work around this? Remember: Turning off hotlink protection is NOT an option.

Re: Upgrade issue - Pro v1 to v2

To quote from this FAQ: … #trouble_2

Check if your webserver has  'Hotlink Protection' enabled. Hotlink Protection breaks SimpleViewer. Check with your webserver administrator.

Also, as you are aware, SimpleViewer-Pro does not include the ActionScript or JavaScript Source code.
Please see this FAQ for details: … #presale_3

As far as I am aware, there is no workaround for this. If you cannot have hotlink protection removed from your hosting account (or cannot change web host) and require a refund, then please see the 'Money Back Guarantee' section on this page:
