Topic: Firefox & IE9 Issues

Hi All,

I wonder if you could take a look at for me please?

In Firefox the images don't display.
In IE9 it says the flash version is not correct (Which it is) it works if I press the IE9 compatabilty icon.

Chrome and IE7/8 work fine.

Any help you can give me would be most appreciated , I don't fancy starting the site from scratch again!
I did post in V1 forum but just realised it's V2!

Try replacing your <object><embed> code with the recommended embedding code found here: … html#embed

Also, inconsistencies between viewing a web page in different browsers can often be attributed to HTML errors on the page.
Try validating your page with the W3C Markup Validation Service and fix any errors reported.

Re: Firefox & IE9 Issues

Hi Steven

Thanks for the info I have validated the home page now and it fixed the IE9 errors.

I also found a fix you suggested to another user for the FF issues that being turning off hotlink protection on my hosting server.

That worked however that then means that anyone can go and steal my images which I want to avoid and was one of the main reasons for using Simpleviewer swf.

Is there anyway round that?

To quote from this FAQ: … #trouble_2

Check if your webserver has  'Hotlink Protection' enabled. Hotlink Protection breaks SimpleViewer. Check with your webserver administrator.

As far as I am aware, there is no workaround for this.
