Topic: Need text instead of thumbnails that activate Viewer

I am in a Joomla environment. Have been hunting and hunting for exactly what the Simpleviewer is. I'm about to purchase Pro V2 but I do not see how I would replace the thumbs with text that would form 2 columns. When your mouse hovers over each artist's name, the Viewer should show one image of their work.

Obviously, the image displayed then needs to link to that artist's page.

It seems simple but I cannot find ANY extension or module - even commercial ones - that do this.

Can anyone advise me on how I could customize SimpleViewer?

Thumbnails cannot be replaced with text.
One possible workaround would be to create your own thumbnail images of text with a program such as Photoshop.

When your mouse hovers over each artist's name, the Viewer should show one image of their work.

This can be achieved by setting changeImageOnHover="TRUE" in your gallery's XML file.

Obviously, the image displayed then needs to link to that artist's page.

This can be achieved by setting imageClickMode="OPEN_URL".
Clicking on the main image will open the linkURL (with an optional linkTarget) associated with the image in the gallery's XML file.

OMG! Wow. Thank you!

So everything CAN be done if I just create little name gifs and follow your directions? I will take that solution since there is virtually NOTHING available for a Joomla environment.  Wonder why. It's very common in the html world (a CSS flash effect)

Now I'm going to sound like an idiot but SimpleView is not a mod or an extension? Just code? It will work in Joomla 1.6 or 1.7?

Sorry. Is there an unobtrusive way to create 2 columns of those names so one does not have to scroll all the way down the page (32 names!)

Ignore previous...I see the parameters. What I also see is many issues with installing this into a Joomla environment, which makes me sad. It's a beautiful product but I can't battle both the text issue AND Joomla. I do love it and will use it soon in an html site. My immediate problem, however, is not solved.

There is no SimpleViewer extension for Joomla.

It will work in Joomla 1.6 or 1.7?

It should work fine by using embedding code if you:
(1) Create your gallery with svBuilder-Pro
(2) Upload the entire gallery folder (not just the contents) to your web server
(3) Embed the gallery using one of the two methods described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external

Use thumbColumns="2" in your gallery's XML file.
You may also want to set a large number for thumbRows and create text images wider than they are tall and then set something like thumbWidth="100" and thumbHeight="20".
