Topic: Cannot find gallery after changing ISP's

Just moved my website to a new ISP, and now SV starts, but cannot find the gallery, even though the structure and files are the same. Well, nearly the same: the new host is a Unix server (not sure if the previous one was).

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Scott

Re: Cannot find gallery after changing ISP's

If they are the same set up, it should work. Can you post a screenshot of your ftp directories?

Thanks for the reply Richard: I'm still perplexed! I moved my website from "Cableone" to the numerical ftp site shown in the listing below. With the exception of the "htdocs" subfolder, all folders on the new site were exact copies of the original tree. At the moment my html is directed back the the Cableone site for Simpleviewer, which still works there:

Thanks for any ideas!

Re: Cannot find gallery after changing ISP's

By the way, I chose Unix over Windows when I signed on with my new ISP. I just saw the following:
--------------------------------------------------------
Customers using the following Windows applications will need to choose the Windows platform:

MS Access

.NET

ASP

Cold Fusion

MS SQL
-----------------------------------------------------------
Does Simpleviewer require any of these applications? If so, I guess I need to have them move me to a Windows platform.

Thx,

Scott

Re: Cannot find gallery after changing ISP's

you should be fine with unix.
does your web folder contain the viewer.swf ? sure your paths are correct? post or pm your xml file .
I'm guessing the permissions set for htdocs might be wrong? I'd create a new folder for the SV files, such as - put everything in the web folder.

sorry, nothing obvious sticks out

Thanks again for looking at this. Glad to hear Unix should be OK, and yes, the folder "Gallery 2" has a copy of viewer.swf: whatever was in the original ISP folders got moved to the new ISP. As for htdocs, it seems I am forced to build within that folder, which was created by Network Solutions (the ISP): I cannot create new folders outside of htdocs.

As for the xml, here it is below (SV will open, but soon gives the "cannot find gallery" error):

------------------------------------------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<simpleviewerGallery maxImageWidth="700" maxImageHeight="600" textColor="0xFFFFFF" frameColor="0xffffff" frameWidth="10" stagePadding="40" thumbnailColumns="3" thumbnailRows="3" navPosition="left" title="<font face="Arial" size="20">
Weddings/Receptions</font>" enableRightClickOpen="false" backgroundImagePath="" imagePath="simple_images2/" thumbPath="simple_thumbs2/">

Re: Cannot find gallery after changing ISP's

On my old ISP I used xml names like, "gallery1.xml", "gallery2.xml", etc. Well, I don't know why, but on Network Solutions, my new ISP, if I strip the number, then "gallery.xml" Simpleviewer work! The numbers kept me from mixing up files, but I guess I can live with this.

Thanks for the help, and for being my sounding board on this head scratcher.
