Topic: Tiltviewer with IE and Safari

Hello Steven.
I´ve got a problem! After a lot of hours (and sweet), I was able to install “TiltViewer” in my amateur website, created with a “Web builder” system. When I look at my website, with my (default) “IE” browser, on my own pc, it is perfect. But if I open it with Safari, also on my own pc, only a white square is coming on my page and no pictures, no TiltViewer, nothing at all! On this forum, on the 2011-06-16, I’ve read a similar problem with Firefox, and the response said that is was because of the two different browsers installed on the same pc. Is that the reason why it doesn’t work properly? But like I said before, it looks ferry nice with IE.
Thank you in advance for your response and a lot of sunny greetings from the Canary Islands.
Edgard
My website URL is www.photoedgard.net  and this is the Tiltviewer index code:

Re: Tiltviewer with IE and Safari

the response said that is was because of the two different browsers installed on the same pc. Is that the reason why it doesn’t work properly?

No. You can have several browsers installed side by side on the same PC and it will not make any difference as to whether or not a gallery is displayed correctly in a specific browser.
Currently, the embedding code on your page http://www.photoedgard.net/index.php?p=1_4 is:

<object width="800" height="640" data="TiltViewer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
<param name="src" value="TiltViewer" />
</object>

Replace the above with the recommended embedding code as described in the TiltViewer Embedding Guide: http://simpleviewer.net/tiltviewer/supp … dding.html

<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashcontent">TiltViewer requires JavaScript and the latest Flash player.
<a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/">Get Flash here.</a></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var fo = new SWFObject("TiltViewer.swf", "viewer", "640", "480", "9.0.28", "#000000");

// TILTVIEWER CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
// To use an option, uncomment it by removing the "//" at the start of the line
// For a description of config options, go to:
//http://www.airtightinteractive.com/projects/tiltviewer/config_options.html

//FLICKR GALLERY OPTIONS
// To use images from Flickr, uncomment this block
//fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "true");
//fo.addVariable("user_id", "48508968@N00");
//fo.addVariable("tags", "jump,smile");
//fo.addVariable("tag_mode", "all");
//fo.addVariable("showTakenByText", "true");

// XML GALLERY OPTIONS
// To use local images defined in an XML document, use this block
fo.addVariable("useFlickr", "false");
fo.addVariable("xmlURL", "gallery.xml");
fo.addVariable("maxJPGSize","640");

//GENERAL OPTIONS
fo.addVariable("useReloadButton", "false");
fo.addVariable("columns", "3"); fo.addVariable("rows", "3"); //fo.addVariable("bkgndInnerColor", "0xFFFFFF");
//fo.addVariable("bkgndOuterColor", "0xFFFFFF");
//fo.addVariable("frameColor", "0xAAAAAA");
//fo.addVariable("navButtonColor", "0x000000");
//fo.addVariable("showFlipButton", "true");
fo.addVariable("showLinkButton", "false");
//fo.addVariable("linkLabel", "View image info");
//fo.addVariable("backColor", "0xDDDDDD");
//fo.addVariable("langGoFull", "Go Fullscreen");
//fo.addVariable("langExitFull", "Exit Fullscreen");
//fo.addVariable("langAbout", "About");
// END TILTVIEWER CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

fo.addParam("allowFullScreen","true");
fo.write("flashcontent");
</script>

Alternatively, you could upload your entire TiltViewer gallery folder (not just the contents) to your web server and embed it in an existing HTML page alongside other content by using an <iframe> whose 'src' attribute points to the gallery's HTML index page, eg:

<iframe src="http://www.example.com/gallery_folder/index.html" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Re: Tiltviewer with IE and Safari

Hello Steven.
I´ve replaced the “embedding” code and I’ve I put the “iframe text” instead.

<iframe src="http://www.photoedgard.net/TiltViewer/index.html" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

And!!! It works PERFECT!!!! Thank you ferry much’s for your help. I´m very happy.
A lot of sunny greetings from Fuerteventura (Canary Islands).
