Topic: Select images

If I'm using simple viewer pro, and I have a folder full of say a 1000 images on my webserver, but I only want the end user to see  image1, image5 and image10 out of that  folder, is there some way to pass that information securely to simple viewer so that it only displays those images?

Re: Select images

Are you somehow dynamically generating an XML file on-the-fly?
If you wish only 3 images to be included in a gallery, then list only those three images in a static gallery XML file.

is there some way to pass that information securely to simple viewer

Are you looking to somehow encrypt the names of the images in the XML file?
If so, then I do not know of a way to achieve this.

Re: Select images

I could generate an XML file on the fly, then pass the name of the XML file to viewer. Can I have unique names for the XML file, so that bob could be online looking at bob's files and sue could be online looking at sue's files?

Re: Select images

Yes.
Use the galleryURL option to pass the name of the required XML file onto the viewer.
Your embedding code might look something like this:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
    var flashvars={};
    switch (variable)
    {
        case 0:
            flashvars.galleryURL="bob.xml";
            break;
        case 1:
            flashvars.galleryURL="sue.xml";
            break;
        default:
            flashvars.galleryURL="gallery.xml";
            break;
    }
    simpleviewer.ready(function () {
        simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "222222", true, flashvars);
    });
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
