Can the caption text be formatted with multiple styles? (I.E.: "Dog" Picture 6x6", 2011)

Yes. you can add HTML formatting to your captions as described in this FAQ: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#custom_1
In order to display the caption: "Dog" Picture 6x6", 2011, use the following:

<caption><![CDATA[<i>"Dog"</i> Picture 6x6", <b>2011</b>]]></caption>

Thanks for the reply Steven, but is there any other formatting I can do besides the soon to be deprecated inline tags?

Can I add something to the CSS or can I use XSL styles to format the XML?

No. Captions cannot be formatted by any other method.
