Topic: Please help with Simple Viewer v2.1.3, embedding into iWeb

Its my first time in trying to make a website, i have no knowledge in coding, embedding or anything really, and at the moment i'm not having any luck embedding my simple viewer gallery into my iWeb page. If somebody could please help me?

Ive been through the process of making my gallery on svBuilder, gone to publish it, I saved it and got the code.
I uploaded the files to cyberduck and copied the html address from cyberduck, showing the location of where the files are going to be, I pasted this address into the src section as suggested by the simple viewer support site.

http://claireongley.com/Claire_Ongley/G … index.html - (I've tried putting this into the src section (below), I've tried the same thing but having the file saved in different ares on cyberduck, none of this has worked)

<iframe src="http://www.example.com/mygallery/" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

The result i get is the 404 page not found error message. There it suggests the url is wrong?

Ive also tried adding the code which the svBuilder generated, along with the html cod of the svbuilder:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "95%", "100%", "transparent", true);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<simpleviewergallery

    useFlickr="false"
    resizeOnImport="true"
    cropToFit="false"
    thumbPosition="RIGHT"
    galleryStyle="CLASSIC"
    thumbColumns="1"
    thumbRows="3"

Ive also tried the xml. code:

<head>
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

</head>

<body>

    <!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    simpleviewer.ready(function () {
        simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '95%', '100%', 'transparent', true);
    });
    </script>
    <div id="sv-container"></div>
    <!--END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

</body>
</html>

If somebody could help me id really appreciate it! Thanks

Re: Please help with Simple Viewer v2.1.3, embedding into iWeb

Instructions for 'Embedding in iWeb' can be found in this section of the 'SimpleViewer Embedding Guide': http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … .html#iweb

The result i get is the 404 page not found error message. There it suggests the url is wrong?

That is correct. The link you posted does not lead to the gallery's HTML index page.
You need to find where on your web server you have uploaded your gallery folder. Then determine what the publicly accessible URL would be for the gallery's HTML index page and use this as the value for the 'src' attribute in your <iframe>.
Your web host should be able to help you figure out what folder you should be uploading files to (perhaps one named 'public_html') and what the publicly accessible URL would be for any certain file.

Re: Please help with Simple Viewer v2.1.3, embedding into iWeb

Ok thanks!

However I've tried various combinations of where i think the file is/needs to be located and still haven't got it right......

Within my websites folder on my server, i have a list of each page as a folder and an html code of each also.
One of these files is called Gallery, where i want the simple viewer gallery to go.... Am i right to place the simple viewer folder in here? The simple viewer folder contains: gallery.xml, gallery index.html, images folder, score folder, and a thumbs folder.

I'm now also getting the message Forbidden -You don't have permission to access /Claire_Ongley/GALLERY_files/SimpleViewer/galleryindex.html/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Re: Please help with Simple Viewer v2.1.3, embedding into iWeb

It does not matter where you upload your gallery folder as long as it is publicly accessible.
Upload your entire gallery folder (not just the contents) somewhere on your web server and follow the instructions for the baseURL method of embedding as described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external

One of these files is called Gallery, where i want the simple viewer gallery to go.... Am i right to place the simple viewer folder in here?

Where is your 'Gallery' folder located in your web site's structure?
If it is in the root directory and you upload your SimpleViewer gallery folder (for example, named 'SimpleViewer') into the 'Gallery' folder, then you should be able to view the gallery by opening the following location in a browser:
http://claireongley.com/Gallery/SimpleViewer/index.html
... as long as your gallery's index file is named 'index.html' (default name).
