Topic: File sorting order

Hi Guys,

Been using svBuilder-Pro for a while now and I'm still extremely pleased with it.
I have encountered something a bit odd however.
In one gallery I have about 200 images and I exported them from Lightroom using the custom text and increasing index number for the file name option.
So the filenames come out like this :
LDS2011-1
LDS2011-2
LDS2011-3
etc...

The problem is that when I sort the images by file name svBuilderPro sorts them using what appears to be the old Windows bug where you get the numbers in this order :
1,10,100,101,102,103,104,105,106,107,108,109,11,110,111,112,113...119,12,120,121,122...129,13,130,131,132 etc...
And not in actual numerical magnitude order :
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 etc...

I can't find a way around it and there's no way to select a group of images and manually change their order and dragging them all around would take a colossal amount of time.
The order by file date suffers from the same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Renaming your files (perhaps with a bulk renaming tool such as Flexible Renamer) from LDS2011-1 to LDS2011-001, LDS2011-2 to LDS2011-002, etc. would work.
Please make a backup of your images before bulk renaming them.

Lightroom allows me to export with a wide variety of additional numbering systems and one that works is : filename (1 of 205) etc...
I'm not that keen on this solution as it's inelegant. I'll try the 001,002,003 today.

As far as I know, the apparent error in the way svBuilder-Pro orders the numbers is actually a problem within Windows itself as files used to order themselves in exactly the same way. But I can't remember how this got fixed.
It might be worth an update to take care of or perhaps provide other ordering options.
A way to CTRL-click multiple images in the image list and move them around would be an interim solution.

Images can be sorted by File Name or by File Date (and reversed) via the 'Images -> Sort' option from the drop-down application menu at the top: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … rpro/#menu
