Topic: Problems upgrading to pro

Steven,
I am having a similar problem that I need help with. I upgraded to Pro and I believe I have successfully replaced the svcore folder with the pro folder via bluehost dashboard.  But now the gallery will not work.  I also installed adobe air and sv builder to create a gallery but cannot embed it that way. I am  not sure what to do next. How do I get the gallery I've created with the svbuilder embedded on my page. It seems like I've tried the various options, but still without success.

When you say the html file for the page should be in the gallery folder, how exactly do i do this?

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

The reason I uploaded to pro was because I had many images, they were uploading slowly and also the orientation was wrong on the vertical images. Can these issues be fixed in pro??

The 'SimpleViewer Embedding Guide' can be found here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … dding.html
You could either follow the instructions for 'Embedding into a HTML Page' here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … html#embed
... or use one of the two methods for 'Using an External Gallery Folder' here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external

If your images take a long time to load in your gallery, then this is likely to be caused by the images being very large (in which case you should reduce them in size) or that your web server is slow in serving them to your browser.
Images can be resized and rotated to the desired orientation within both svBuilder and svBuilder-Pro.
Please see the 'svBuilder-Pro User Guide' for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … uilderpro/

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

Steven,
It seems like the gallery that is currently loading is still the free version. I can change the image size, but what can I do about the orientation if pro isn't working? They are oriented correctly in the gallery.

Also, I've followed all of the instructions for embedding, but I am not sure what is happening and why it isn't working. Do you think you might have any insight into why it is not embedding properly. Should I be using the embed code given to me in svbuilder or follow the instructions below.

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

It also keeps saying gallery xml not found when I try to follow the instructions to embed in html.  Does the gallery folder need to be in the same folder that the html is contained in? If so, how is this done when using a theme with page templates?

I should also mention that when I went to install pro in wordpress, it says "this plugin does not have a valid header."

So i don't know if that is preventing it from working properly.

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

Are you using WP-SimpleViewer or trying to embed a gallery created with svBuilder-Pro?

If using WP-SimpleViewer, then you can upgrade to SimpleViewer-Pro by following the instructions here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … iewer/#pro
You can then proceed to create a SimpleViewer-Pro gallery using WP-SimpleViewer following the instructions here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … er/#create

If trying to embed a gallery created with svBuilder-Pro, I would recommend that you upload the entire gallery folder (not just the contents) to your web server and use the baseURL method of embedding as described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external
In doing so, you do not need to worry about moving or renaming any gallery files.

As an example, if your gallery folder is named 'gal' and you upload it to the root of your web structure, then the embedding code you should enter into the body of the post (using 'HTML' rather than 'Visual' as the method of entry) would be:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.beachboxit.com/gal/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars = {};
flashvars.baseURL = "http://www.beachboxit.com/gal/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "222222", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

Hi Steven,
This worked great, thank you. The only problem I have now is that I upgraded the free version of simpleviewer and now my gallery as created in svbuilder is no longer there. I only see thumbnails for the images.

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

Can I delete the simpleviewer free version and still embed a gallery from the svbuilder? Not sure what exactly I need to do here.

Thanks!

Re: Problems upgrading to pro

If you wish to embed a gallery created by svBuilder-Pro in WordPress:
(1) Create your gallery using svBuilder-Pro.
(2) Upload the entire gallery folder (not just the contents) to your web server using an FTP program such as Filezilla.
(3) Embed the gallery into a WordPress post using one of the two methods described here, ensuring that, when entering the embedding code into the body of the post, the method of entry is 'HTML' rather than 'Visual'.
