Topic: iPhone compatibility issues...

(Novice first time user)

Hi all,

I've managed to get the simpleviewer gallery working as I wish from any browser, however i can't seem to get it working with an iphone.

The simpleviewer window is embedded in a HTML snippet on a page (made from iWeb) and is being directed to the correct gallery files on the FTP server. (simpleviewergallery/simpleviewergallery.html).

Now i've done some fishing around and i've seen that i should redirect the snippet to the svcore/full.html, but then i get an error saying ''gallery not found''...

any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
SBA

Please explain in greater detail what is not working and, if possible, post the URL to your gallery so that we can take a look.

The 'full.html' file is used for displaying the Mobile Player in 'Full Window' mode.
You should not need to refer to the 'full.html' file manually.  This functionality is handled automatically by SimpleViewer.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the quick reply.

the link for the website is

http://www.sbarch.co.uk/SBA/Home.html

There isn't any error pages or anything like that, it just doesn't load up at all from an iphone.  The page just ends up being white?

thanks again.

Your gallery displays OK on my iPod Touch.
Try clearing your browser's cache before reloading your gallery.

Re: iPhone compatibility issues...

really?! i've cleared my cache (data and cookies button on the iphone) and so has someone else in the office who also has an iphone, it works on neither device?

both of us are using the latest iOS5 software?...

Re: iPhone compatibility issues...

really?!

Yes. iPod Touch, 4th Generation, iOS 5.0.
If it did not work, I would have also suggested the following...

(1) iWeb inserts your 'http://www.sbarch.co.uk/SBA/Home_files/widget1_markup.html' page into your 'http://www.sbarch.co.uk/SBA/Home.html' page.
The 'widget1_markup.html' file includes not only an <iframe> but a complete web page (with a Doctype Declaration, <html>, <body> and <head> tags).
Try using just the <iframe> code within the 'widget1_markup.html' file.

(2) Your gallery has the same dimensions as the <iframe> (1000px x 500px) as set in the embedding code:

simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '1000', '500', 'transparent', false);

If embedding in an <iframe>, keep the <iframe>'s dimensions as desired but try setting the gallery's own dimensions to 100% x 100% (so that it fills the <iframe> no matter what its dimensions are).

simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '100%', '100%', 'transparent', false);

(3) Your gallery currently uses SimpleViewer-Pro v2.1.3.
Try upgrading to the latest version (v2.2.0) as several bugs have been fixed since v2.1.3.
Please see the Version History for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/history.html
