Dear Support Staff,
My galleries were working fine until today. However, on page load, the main gallery image does not show. Images appear when thumbnails are clicked, but nothing on page load. You can see some examples at:

I have the same problem. The problem seems to be with the Flickr gallery. The flash loads on my local computer, however as soon as you upload it to the website, it does not work. The galleries worked fine till a couple of days ago. I redownloaded 220, uploaded the sample web directory and it still does the same thing. When you use Flickr, it seems that Simplegallery just doesn't get the images anymore. I even uploaded a gallery to different webhosting providers to see if it was something just on the original hosting server or on different unrelated servers. It was the same on all of them. Again, there was no changes made to the working gallery that was working earlier last week but quit working in the last two days.

I hope so too Isaac. Simpleviewer is such a good product and fun to use. Hopefully it is something easy to fix.
Is anybody else experiencing the same thing ? Anybody got any ideas ?
Is it safe to assume this is not a localized problem ? I really hope this can be fixed :(
It looks like Flickr may be currently experiencing difficultes.
I have just created a couple of quick test galleries myself (using SimpleViewer v2.1.3 and v2.2.0) and both suffer from the same symptoms (thumbnails not fully loading and main images not appearing).

Thank you for posting your query in the Flickr forum.
Being that it was working fine a couple of days ago and we are using different web servers to host our galleries, then the only variable left in the equation is that something has changed with Flickr.
Hi Steven. Thanks for looking into this. Yeah, I would concur with that. At least we know now where the problem lies. I have posted on the Flickr support forum, but not heard anything back from the official support staff yet. Other forum users are directing me back here though. Is this something you are looking in to or should I nag Flickr some more ?

SimpleViewer uses the Flickr API to return images for the gallery and all was working fine a couple of days ago.
The fact that some images display fine whilst others do not (though they are included in the gallery) and that the images that are displayed change each time a gallery is refreshed seems to suggest a possible problem with Flickr's servers.

All of the images load as thumbnails and are displayed as the main image when the thumbnails are fully loaded. If they are selected before they are fully loaded, the "loading bar" displays, but the image never appears (although the caption does). I don't know if that helps at all. Hopefully it is a problem with the servers Flickr side, and it is fixed quickly :)

Pretty much the only thing the Flickr Community Comments are worried about is the link back to Flickr. I don't imagine they care one way or the other if Simpleviewer works or not. So much for help from Flickr.

I'm having the same issue as well and have been wanting to throw something for the last hour. It's a good thing I read this forum b/c I was going nuts.
Hopefully Flickr fixes the issue soon. Many of my clients are set up through Flickr and login and update their galleries themselves. Worst case scenario - If Flickr does not fix this, I'm curious if there is an alternative to keep allowing my clients to do so through SimpleViewer. It's a huge selling point for me to allow them that option.

thanks for letting us know about this issue. It is indeed a problem on Flickr's end. One of their servers is not returning the crossdomain.xml file required by Flash to load images cross-domain.
I've alerted Flickr to the issue and they should fix it ASAP. Please be patient while Flickr fixes the issue.
Yup...the issue is that people are getting a 403 error on the reference to http://farm7.staticflickr.com/crossdomain.xml
I found a FLICKR thread that said to change "staticflickr" to "static.flickr" to work around the problem.
They've had the problem since Friday. Hopefully when they're in the office on Monday, they'll fix the damn thing. You'd think a service with millions of PAID users would move a bit faster than Microsloth.

Mine are still malfunctioning. I cleared the cache, but they are sitll not working

Perhaps we need to be a little more patient for Flickr to fully fix this problem. Certain galleries still seem to not be functioning correctly though my own test gallery, which suffered the symptoms yesterday, now works fine.
Hi Stephen, do you have an example of a gallery that is now working. I am curious to see if it is set up different from mine. I am keen to get mine back to full functionality as soon as possible. Many thanks.

No. I obtained identical results with a SimpleViewer-Pro gallery with the same Flickr account (failed yesterday, working today).
