Topic: rotation of images - portrait becomes landscape

hello sv community...

I'm writing after spending about an hour searching online for a solution to my problem

I'm currently building a site in WP and started with simpleviewer. My issue is that within the viewer, all portrait images are displayed as landscape. These images when opened in photoshop, preview etc show correctly. when i uploaded the gallery to wp i made sure that any that were changed to landscape then were rotated to portrait again and saved. when creating a wp gallery from them, the ratio is correct, no issues. when viewing the original pix from wp the show correctly.

I've tried changing the max height of the sv gallery to 800px also. there are no plugins running that are listed as incompatible

After a search on google and here on rotation, portrait to landscape etc, I'm at my wits end. it doesn't seem a common problem! I'm using the current versions of wp, and sv also.

the page/issue example is here (still very much under development) http://surfaceresonance.net/places/silos

I've also tried various thumbnail settings - interestingly, when I applied the 'left' setting, all images were squeezed into a tiny bar on the right. I'm wondering if it might be my hacked codium extend theme playing tricks on me? I've tried all the sv styles also, simple, classic  etc - to no avail

if anyone can assit me I would greatly apprecaite it. in all other respects it would be the ideal tool for the job. I'm prepping this site with aimed completion end of the week so I'm really hopeful someone can assit me.

thank you
eliot

Re: rotation of images - portrait becomes landscape

also of note, strangely enough, when i select fullscreen button as an option and save this, no such button appears in my gallery. very confusing!

Re: rotation of images - portrait becomes landscape

When I view your images directly in a browser, they appear in the same orientation as they do in your gallery, eg:
http://surfaceresonance.net/wp-content/ … /chute.jpg (landscape whereas it should be portrait).
When viewing the image in an image manipulation program, the program is likely reading the EXIF orientation data and displaying the image accordingly. Try re-saving your images without any EXIF information (ensuring that the orientation looks OK on screen) and your images should be displayed consistently by all programs/browsers.

when i select fullscreen button as an option and save this

Try updating the post and then clearing your browser's cache before reloading the gallery.

Re: rotation of images - portrait becomes landscape

thank you - that seems to be it

funny enough, its the first time I've not used photoshop 'save for web' (which removes exif data) to prepare my files - so ran into a problem without realising it

I think my next issue is scaling images but I think I saw there is a command for that somewhere

thanks for the help

Please see the description for imageScaleMode (a Pro-only configuration option) in the 'Main Image' section of the 'SimpleViewer-Pro Config Options' page: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/pr … #mainimage
