Topic: Windows7 flashplayer

my gallerys made with Pro v2 are working perfect, - thank you.

But the problem is how do i tell the visitors which flashplayer for which Browser has to be installed?

getAdobeFlashplayer will give me on a 64bit Win7 a 64bit-version and on XP32bit a 32-version.
This is OK for IE 64bit
But this is not OK for last Firefox installed as 32bit Version on Win7 64bit!

And my visitors are not IT-experts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will probably not find the right flash version.

Is there an a better solution apart from recommending IE?

Double the gallerys in flash and not flash? -- will loose "fullscreen"

BTW: if i choose "useflash"=false and keep the fullscreen-button, the browser will freeze when you hit the button.

Thanks for any input

Re: Windows7 flashplayer

When going to in Firefox 8.0.1, the version offered on my Windows 7 x64 platform is, indeed, the 64-bit Flash Player but there is the following note:

Note: The 64-bit Flash Player installer includes both a 32-bit and 64-bit version of Flash Player.

Clicking the 'Download now' button installs this version and it works fine in Firefox 8.0.1 on my computer (and should also work fine for others).

Re: Windows7 flashplayer

Hi Steven

thanks for competent answer.

Yes if called from IE then it downloads it downloads the active-x.
When called from firefox it downloads flashplayer ( 32 and 64bit ).

So in a html page this should be sufficient:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var flashvars = {};

    flashvars.galleryURL = "stilleben/galleryex.xml";

    simpleviewer.ready(function () {
        simpleviewer.load('sv-container', '80%', '100%', 'transparent', true, flashvars, null, null, false);

    <div id="sv-container">
This gallery needs JavaScript and Flash Player.
<a href="">Get Flash.</a>

... but that message does not show, insted the thumbs are shown.

Shure i am missing something there?

Re: Windows7 flashplayer

If Adobe Flash Player is not detected in the user's browser, then the SimpleViewer gallery will be displayed using the Mobile Player (and the grid of thumbnails will be seen): … #universal
The user will not be redirected to the 'Get Adobe Flash' page in any browser.
