Topic: IIS 7 server

Hi, we've had our galleries up for quite a while, no problems.  We have recently switched over to an IIS7 server and have had a lot of problems, but the only one I am asking about here is, the flash galleries don't work anymore.  I do have flash on the site(s) and it works fine, but these galleries no longer work.

Is there something that needs to be added to the web.config file, or could it be a MIME type problem?  The pages I have the flash on that works has  this type of embed code

    <embed src="https://www.kqimageserver.com/kqimages/flash/NOV17.swf" width="510" height="300" wmode="transparent" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>

am wondering if the bolded section could help with this new server configuration/the simpleviewer pages....??  I have no idea what I need to change - thanks.

Re: IIS 7 server

Could you please post a URL to one of your non-functioning SimpleViewer Flash galleries so that we can take a look?
Thank you.

Re: IIS 7 server

Opening the gallery's SWF file directly in a browser results in a Runtime Error: Server Error in '/' Application (rather than the browser displaying the SWF file itself), the description of which is as follows:

An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Try opening the URL http://www.keepsakequilting.com/flash/g … viewer.swf on the local server machine and see if the page displayed offers any help.
If other Flash pages using <embed> tags work fine, you could try replacing your existing SWFObject embedding code with <object><embed> code as documented here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … html#basic

Re: IIS 7 server

Thanks Steven, I will check that out - I was hoping there was a version where I could embed it -- I'll try it and let you know.

Re: IIS 7 server

Hi Steven -- Haven't had a chance to try the embed directions yet, but hope to today --  I did try and call up the simpleviewer.swf file on beta and got this information:

No, sorry. This is not something I am familiar with.

Re: IIS 7 server

Yeah, I still think its a MIME type and/or web.config issue with the IIS 7 server.   I just wish I knew what could be added to the web.config file to make it recognize the flash.

Re: IIS 7 server

Hopefully someone reading this and familiar with the IIS 7 server can offer a solution.
Perhaps searching or posting in an IIS forum (such as this one) would also prove to be helpful.
