Topic: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

OK, the gallery.xml file is in the same directory as the index.html file, but I'm still getting the "gallery.xml file not found" message.  I'm working with a new client (with a different server company than usual) and I'm wondering if there's something I should look for in server config which might be the source of the problem. I've chatted with tech support at the hosting company, but they weren't any help at all.

Examples:
http://www.ashandgriffin.com/index.htm -- there's an iframe which shows the error message
http://www.ashandgriffin.com/galleries/home/index.html -- this is the SVPro-created file which is the iframe's content. The gallery.xml file is in this same directory.

Anyone have any ideas? I've been using this software for more than a year and have been absolutely delighted until this problem cropped up.

Re: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

The 'gallery.xml' file should be located here: http://www.ashandgriffin.com/galleries/home/gallery.xml
... but opening this page in a browser displays a blank page. It looks like the file is there but empty.
Try re-uploading the XML file to the location: http://www.ashandgriffin.com/galleries/home/gallery.xml

Re: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

I just reuploaded the gallery.xml file to that directory and I still get that  "Gallery XML Not Found" message in a dark gray box. I see the same problem in IE8 and Safari. Anything else to try?

Re: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

The webserver is returning an error when trying to load: http://www.ashandgriffin.com/galleries/home/gallery.xml

"Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)"

Not sure why this would be happening. Try placing the XML file somewhere else. It may be a configuration issue with your web server. Please try contacting your web host tech suport.

Re: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

I've just opened a support case with the hosting company. Didn't get any useful info from a online chat with them earlier. Let the hair-tearing begin.

I have just checked your gallery and it now displays fine.

Re: Gallery.xml not found - a new twist

Yes. Apparently, the hosting company did an unspecified "something" to fix the problem on all the site's galleries. I am hoping to find out what they did and share that tidbit for future reference. Thanks for your guidance.
