Topic: Multiple galleries

Would very much appreciate your help on the following two issues:

1.    The directions http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … dding.html say to copy all the files in the same folder, but I need some sort of a folder structure to keep things organized.  Can I maintain the structure?
2.    Also can I change the galleries within one html page i.e. keep the overall container the same, but change the body?

Re: Multiple galleries

1.    The directions http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … dding.html say to copy all the files in the same folder, but I need some sort of a folder structure to keep things organized.  Can I maintain the structure?

You can keep each gallery self-contained in individual folders and embed them in a page using one of the two methods described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external
Just upload the complete gallery folders, not just the contents, with no need to move or rename any files, and use the baseURL method to embed the galleries.

2.    Also can I change the galleries within one html page i.e. keep the overall container the same, but change the body?

Using the structure suggested in 1. above, all you would need to do to change a gallery in a page (without altering any of the page's code) would be to swap the relevant gallery folder with a new gallery folder of the same name (though the contents of the folder would differ).

Re: Multiple galleries

I tried using the baseURL method and cannot get the gallery to even display.  I get the message Gallery XML Not Found even though there is a gallery XML in the folder.
The code I am using is as follows:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="galleries/sv_2007_works/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars = {};
flashvars.baseURL = "galleries/sv_2007_works/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "474747", true);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

I am sure I am doing something wrong and would appreciate your help on what it is.  I can then move to the option of loading multiple galleries in the same frame.

Many thanks!

Re: Multiple galleries

When using flashvars, you need to include them as a parameter in the simpleviewer.load() line, as follows:

simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "474747", true, flashvars);

Please see the Embed Code Parameters section of the SimpleViewer EMbedding Guide for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … tml#params

Re: Multiple galleries

You are TREMENDOUS!  big_smile

I ended up using an iFrame which seems to be much simpler.  I have almost got it where I want it, but am struggling with one thing.  There is a big gap between my horizontal menu bar and the top of the gallery.  I am hoping there is an option to control that dead space.  Please advise!

Scratch that question.  Used the Stage VAlign and that took care of the issue.  But created another issue.  The submenu would drop down over the iFrame, but does not open because of the iFrame.  Suggestions?

Re: Multiple galleries

Try making the background of your gallery transparent:

simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "transparent", true, flashvars);

Please see this FAQ for details: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … ml#embed_5
You may also need to add the attribute allowtransparency="true" to your <iframe> tag, eg:

<iframe allowtransparency="true" id="content" name="content" src="http://www.example.com/gallery/index.html" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
