Topic: Gallery only partially loads

I am using the non-pro version of the SimpleViewer WP plugin with Wordpress 3.3. I've seen this problem in Chrome and Explorer running on Windows 7.

My galleries only partially load -- usually the first one or two thumbnails show partially completed progress bars, and the main image shows only a progress bar. Clicking the thumbnails seems to sometimes load the main image and sometimes not.e

The top of the page has a standard WordPress default gallery. Under that is a "compact" Simpleviewer gallery. For me, this gallery does not fully load the main pic or the last three thumbnails.

There are five images in the gallery and the max dimension is 900px on each.

In your gallery's XML file, a sample <image> entry is as follows:

<image imageURL="http://fyfephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/tatanaka1.jpg" thumbURL="http://www.fyfephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/tatanaka1-150x150.jpg" linkURL="http://fyfephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/tatanaka1.jpg" linkTarget="_blank"><caption><![CDATA[]]></caption></image>

Note that the imageURL is http://fyfephoto.com and the thumbURL is http://www.fyfephoto.com. These are different domains (www.fyfephoto.com being a subdomain of fyfephoto.com).

Thanks so much, Steven, for your reply! I don't know why the thumbnails and images would have uploaded under different sub-domains via the standard Wordpress uploader. But (after upgrading to the latest version of WP) I have re-uploaded the images and recreated the galleries, and it seems to be working great. Thanks!

I had this same issue. I traced it down to the fact that we built the site on a .us domain and then moved it to .com to go live. At some point the gallery builder is pulling info from the database regarding the thumbnail location and even though I've done a ton of search and replace in the database the issue keeps coming up. Anyways I decided to fix it permanently by making a .htaccess redirect.

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.us$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

If I figure out where it's pulling that from in the database, I will update.
