Topic: Facebook: Adding a thumbnail to a shared link?

Does anyone know how add the code to an SVPro page that I've created so that when I share the link on FB people can see a thumbnail?

I google around and got something like this:

<link rel="image_src" href="http://www.yourdomain.com/facebook-tn.jpg" />

Where on my SV page can I add code this?

And, can I link to an image that's already in the SV Image folder?

Thanks for your help!

Anthony

Your code should be placed between the <head> and </head> tags in your gallery's HTML index page.

Yes. You can link directly to a thumbnail in the gallery's 'thumbs' folder.
A sample URL to a thumbnail would look something like:
http://www.example.com/gallery/thumbs/thumb1.jpg

Thank you Steven.  That worked great!

Re: Facebook: Adding a thumbnail to a shared link?

Hi,

It is also possible, with a bit of javascript, to add sharing options (and have the thumbnail be the image the user is viewing).

There is an example here

@Steven and Ramblings

Looking at the Gallery I noticed that your <meta property="og:image" content=""> changes in relation to the current image.

How is this possible with java or is this actually php and if what code could be used to achieve this?

Thanks

Re: Facebook: Adding a thumbnail to a shared link?

The pages are created with PHP (try visiting the pages by going to /index.php?i=10 rather than /?i=10).
The PHP code is creating the content of the <meta> tag depending on the value of the 'i' query string variable.

Re: Facebook: Adding a thumbnail to a shared link?

Thank you Steven - Could this be done with a url  like this /index.php#10?

Re: Facebook: Adding a thumbnail to a shared link?

If you need to read the anchor part of the URL with PHP, this web page may help.
Otherwise, you can use 'window.location.hash' in JavaScript.
