Topic: Detect if Java not present

Hi,

I am trying to put in the piece of code which shows a message if Java is not present and shows the gallery if Java is there.

I had tried the code with the message "<div id="flashContent">SimpleViewer requires JavaScript etc..." found on your page:

      http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external

I could not get that to work.

I then noticed that you have a later help page for version 2.2 (which I have) as follows:

      http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … dding.html

That does not mention "SimpleViewer requires JavaScript etc...".

Is there a new way? How do I do this with version 2.2?

Thanks

TomD

Re: Detect if Java not present

If you wish to display a message for users whose browsers have JavaScript disabled, just insert it inside the
<div id="sv-container"></div> in the embedding code, eg:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "100%", "100%", "222222", true);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container">SimpleViewer requires JavaScript.</div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
