Topic: Simpleviewer displaying "ghost" after unload -- help requested

My site loads content dynamically into a <div> with JQuery. Simpleviewer loads and displays fine, but occasionally -- often after many clicks to and from other pages -- it leaves behind an empty white box the size of the picture viewer that floats over every element and cannot be closed. (Photos below). Even refreshing the page won't obliterate the box; the only solution is to close and reopen the browser tab.

As far as I can tell, this happens only in Chrome and is related to the parent <div> fading out and back in with JQuery as a transition effect. If I hide the effect, the problem disappears.

I should also mention that I load simpleviwer.js in the head of my index file, but execute SV.simpleviewer.load() within the dynamically-loaded content, just below <div id="sv-container">.

Any thoughts? Thanks,

Patrick

Re: Simpleviewer displaying "ghost" after unload -- help requested

Try upgrading your jQuery library from v1.4.4 to the latest version (v1.7.2).
Also, I notice you are using an unpacked version of the 'simpleviewer.js' JavaScript file. Try reverting to the original 'simpleviewer.js' file from your SimpleViewer-Pro download package ('simpleviewer_pro_230/web/js/simpleviewer.js').
Also make sure that you have the latest versions of both Chrome and Adobe Flash Player installed.

Re: Simpleviewer displaying "ghost" after unload -- help requested

Thanks, Steven. I implemented all of your recommendations. The issue occurred again, this time using the JQuery fadeIn() command.

Re: Simpleviewer displaying "ghost" after unload -- help requested

I am unable to replicate your problem using Google Chrome 17.0.963.79 and Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.63.

If I hide the effect, the problem disappears.

Unfortunately, I have no other solution to offer but if this works, it may be the best course of action.
