Topic: problem with embedding

Hi,

I've been trying to post the viewer in my website, but can't figure out what is wrong with the codes.

I've tried two ways and each one has different problem.

1)
I used the codes below.
=================
<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "830", "499", "FFFFFF", true);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->
=================

And the page says "XML not found"

2)
Then I read troubleshooting and other forum posts and fixed the code as below by adding the path to the folder and also to "gallery.xml"
=================
<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="indexgallery/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.galleryURL="indexgallery/gallery.xml";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "830", "499", "FFFFFF", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

I'm guessing I'm missing something small, but can't figure out on my own...
Do you know what is missing??

Thank you for any help.

Re: problem with embedding

If all your gallery files are in the 'indexgallery' folder, then you should use the baseURL method of embedding as described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external
Your embedding code would become:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="indexgallery/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="indexgallery/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "830", "499", "FFFFFF", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

Bear in mind that all relative URLs within your gallery's XML file (eg. thumbURLs and imageURLs) will be relative to this URL (which, if you created your gallery with svBuilder-Pro or another automated method, they are already likely to be).

Re: problem with embedding

thank you, I got the images successfully!

And I have one more question.

I'm using auto play, and the images sometimes doesn't change smoothly...one image stays in the widow while the next image is popping up. Two or sometimes three images are showing in the window at the same time, and the images are creating mess..

Do you what's causing the problem?

Re: problem with embedding

Make sure that you are using the most recent version of SimpleViewer (v2.3.0) to eliminate the possibility that a bug from a previous version (which has since been fixed) is the cause of your problem.
There was an 'image gets stuck' bug in v2.2.0 that was fixed in v2.3.0 which might be the cause.
A full list of bugfixes can be found in the SimpleViewer Version History: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/history.html
Please see the 'Upgrading SimpleViewer-Pro' page for details if necessary: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewe … grade.html
Otherwise, please post the URL to your gallery so that I can take a look.

Re: problem with embedding

yeah...I'm using v 2.3.0.

Here's the site: http://www.fourleafsound.com/index.2.html

It sometimes goes well and sometimes not...

Re: problem with embedding

Thank you for posting the link to your gallery.
I have viewed your gallery in Firefox 11, IE9, Safari 5.1.5 and Chrome 17 and do not see any overlapping images.
Do you see this phenomenon in a specific browser or in many different browsers?
Make sure that your Adobe Flash Player installation is up-to-date by visiting this page in each browser that you use: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/ … layer.html

You could also try setting imagePreloading="NEXT" and/or increase your imageTransitionTime.
