Topic: Ok, Totally confused.

I downloaded the simple script to use with photoshop CS3. Was told in another forum that svBuilder is better to use so i went to go buy and download and i cannot find it. All i can find is svManager, which isnt exactly what i want. I dont want to upload to ftp. I was to create html to add snippet to iweb website.

Someone please help me. My head is whirling!

Re: Ok, Totally confused.

svBuilder is a desktop application for creating and editing galleries on your computer.
Once the galleries have been created, they must be uploaded to your web server (just like galleries created with the Photoshop script).
svBuilder comes free inside the zip package for SimpleViewer-Standard. The download link and instructions for getting started can be found here: http://www.simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/support/#start

svManager is a PHP web application for creating and editing galleries online via a web browser interface.
More information on svManager can be found here: http://www.simpleviewer.net/svmanager/

Do you mean through my ftp? I use iweb to create and publish my website normally, but i know i coud do it just as well but downloading directly, but have never done it.

On iWeb you can create an html snippet, and i was trying to use the code the builder gives you, and it didnt work.

Instructions for Embedding With iWeb can be found here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … .html#iweb
As an alternative to using an <iframe>, you could use the baseURL method described here: http://simpleviewer.net/simpleviewer/su … l#external
Either way, you will need to upload your gallery folder to your web server somehow (whether via FTP or through iWeb's interface).

Oh boy! I don't know how to add files to my server through ftp other than through iweb. Ill be making a few calls to my server tomorrow!

Re: Ok, Totally confused.

If you have web space on a web server with a regular web host, then you could use an FTP program such as Filezilla.
If the only web space you have is supplied by iWeb, then check with their support as to how you would go about uploading your gallery folder.

Re: Ok, Totally confused.

Will dropbox work as a FTP server???

I have been pasting this and have been getting no luck.

<iframe src="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/r8dm8i1043aehjm/138bh_dYov" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

that is a link to the entire "gallery folder" that svbuilder created when i said save.

And yes I put in the HTML Snippet and pasted this into it, then posted and no luck

@langkev

Yes. Dropbox can be used successfully as a host for a SimpleViewer gallery.
However, the URL you are loading into the <iframe> is not the public link to the gallery's 'index.html' file. (It is the link to the gallery folder within the Dropbox interface).
Follow the instructions in this post and it should work fine.
