Topic: Caption links in Safari / Mobile Galleries

Hello,

I have inserted links into captions via gallery.xml, and they work fine in Firefox and Chrome, but not in Safari (have emptied cache etc). I can see the link text but the link isn't live. Any suggestions?

Code is here:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<simpleviewergallery

    useFlickr="false"
    resizeOnImport="true"
    cropToFit="false"
    backgroundColor="FFFFFF"
    title="Gallery"
    textColor="000000"
    thumbColumns="3"
    thumbRows="4"
    showFullscreenButton="false"
    showOpenButton="false"
    maxImageWidth="800"
    maxImageHeight="600"
    imageQuality="80"
    thumbWidth="75"
    thumbHeight="75"
    thumbQuality="90"
    imageVAlign="TOP"
    thumbVAlign="TOP"
    showThumbVisited="false"
    thumbFrameWidth="1"
    thumbHoverFrameWidth="3"
    thumbClickShift="2"
    showImageNumber="false"

Viewers were invited to listen and breathe with her. With time, the body trembles, the clay hardens, cracks and crumbles to the floor. An experiment in possible identities and changes of time. It questions the seriousness of life, but also tests its significance beyond the moment. Also when I load the site on my iPhone, the gallery only appears as a row of thumbnails.

I'm using the latest version of SimpleViewer Pro.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Caption links in Safari / Mobile Galleries

I have used the sample caption and XML settings that you posted in a test gallery and the caption works fine in Firefox 12, IE9, Safari 5.1.7 and Chrome 19 on my PC.
Perhaps the link in your caption is obscured by another element on your web page (such as a footer)?
Please post the URL to your gallery so that I can take a look.

Also when I load the site on my iPhone, the gallery only appears as a row of thumbnails.

Please see the following FAQs for details:
When I view my gallery I see a grid of thumbnails, not the layout I specified. Why?
The mobile player layout does not match the Flash player layout. Why not?

Re: Caption links in Safari / Mobile Galleries

Thank you for your help re mobile gallery.

In terms of caption links, the relevant page is here: http://ewelinakolaczek.com/performance/

If you click on the third image along for example (Breath/e), at the end of the caption is "Watch here". "Here" comes up as a link in Firefox/Chrome etc, but not (for me) in Safari 5.1.7.

Re: Caption links in Safari / Mobile Galleries

If you go directly to the gallery itself at: http://ewelinakolaczek.com/wp-content/t … index.html
... and click on the link in Safari, it works fine.
I think the problem exists somewhere within the page into which the gallery is embedded.
Try replacing your <iframe> with embedding code directly in the page.
Change:

<iframe src="http://ewelinakolaczek.com/wp-content/themes/fullscreen-child/performance-pro/index.html" width="800" height="800" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

... to:

<!--START SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED.-->
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ewelinakolaczek.com/wp-content/themes/fullscreen-child/performance-pro/svcore/js/simpleviewer.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var flashvars={};
flashvars.baseURL="http://ewelinakolaczek.com/wp-content/themes/fullscreen-child/performance-pro/";
simpleviewer.ready(function () {
simpleviewer.load("sv-container", "800", "800", "ffffff", true, flashvars);
});
</script>
<div id="sv-container"></div>
<!-- END SIMPLEVIEWER EMBED -->

... to see if it makes a difference.
Also, I notice that your <iframe> and footer text are both enclosed in the same <p></p> tags.
If possible, try enclosing only the footer text (not the <iframe> or embedding code) in the <p> tags.
