Topic: Question about gallery folder contents

Can someone explain why sometimes, when I publish/generate a gallery, the resulting folder only has 5 items (three of which are folders), and other times, the folder has 10 items (7 of which are folders) ??

In the fatter folder, I see a duplication of all items that are in the svcore folder, only they are also placed on the top level of the folder, outside the svcore folder.

To see what I mean, view these screenshots of the contents of the folder:

Lean folder:  http://www.nondairycreamer.com/bugs/lean_folder.png

Fat folder:  http://www.nondairycreamer.com/bugs/fat_folder.png

I'm not conscious of changing the settings.  I thought that the extra files were related to my choice to have a mobile version of the gallery, but now I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Re: Question about gallery folder contents

The 'fat_folder' image shows the contents of the 'svcore' folder emptied into the root gallery folder (alongside the 'svcore' folder).

When creating galleries with svBuilder-Pro, save each gallery into a new, empty and unique folder and you should see a 'svcore' folder alongside the 'images' and 'thumbs' folders and 'index.html' and 'gallery.xml' files (as depicted in your 'lean_folder' image).

The same structure ('lean_folder') will result when editing an existing gallery in svBuilder-Pro.

I thought that the extra files were related to my choice to have a mobile version of the gallery, but now I'm not sure.

No. The same file structure is used whether you select the 'Use Flash' checkbox or not.

It looks like you may have emptied the contents of an 'svcore' folder into a gallery folder at one point and then reused the folder (or edited the gallery in svBuilder-Pro).

Re: Question about gallery folder contents

Greetings, once again, I am grateful for your speedy assistance.

As alluded to in my earlier post about 2 weeks ago:
http://www.simpleviewer.net/forum/viewt … p?id=16457 ,
it seems as if I have created other messes in my frenzied and confused attempt to make my pages work by shuffling files around to different locations.

It didn't make sense to me why the folder structure would be duplicated, and I'm happy to have a leaner concise folder hierarchy.
It also explains why I would repeat this convoluted folder structure if I based a new gallery on an existing gallery, and why I would get a lean folder structure when I started from scratch.  Whaddaya know.....

Thank you again!
