Topic: Behaviour of galleries with SQL data base under Wordpress 3.5.1

The WP-SimpleViewer and SimpleViewer galleries are described by an XML file.
Under Wordpress, modification of an existing gallery XML is not reflected in the page referencing the gallery.
It appears that a description of the gallery is present in the SQL data base, is not updated when modififying the XML file, is created at the first use of the gallery and supersedes the XML description.
This prohibits completely the modification of existing WP-SimpleViewer or SimpleViewer galleries.
Is there a mean for suppressing the description of the gallery in the SQL data base ?

Re: Behaviour of galleries with SQL data base under Wordpress 3.5.1

A gallery's XML file is generated dynamically at the time the gallery is displayed.
The actual XML file in the 'wp-content/uploads/' directory stores only the configuration options for the gallery (and other information required to build the gallery's image data when displayed).
This allows users to change image data (to add or remove images and change captions within the Media Library) without having to rebuild the gallery's XML file afterwards.

You can change a gallery's configuration options by going to 'SimpleViewer -> Manage Galleries' (from the WordPress Dashboard) and then editing the gallery in question.
You could also edit the corresponding XML file in the 'wp-content/uploads/' directory directly if you wish and the changes will take effect the next time the gallery is viewed (though you may need to clear your browser's cache before reloading your gallery in order to see the changes you have made).

If you wish to change image captions, this can be done only within the Media Library as they are not stored in the XML files in the 'wp-content/uploads/' directory.

Thank you Steven for your answer.
It seams to me the theme Platform Pro (from Pagelines) is not compatible with the plugin WP-SimpleViewer : the galleries are corectly displayed, the edition is blocked (by the incompatibility with Platform) and it is not possible to modify anything in the galleries. My solution for editing the galleries is to use svBuilder and to insert the gallery in the WordPress page by the directive iframe.

If the galleries are correctly displayed, then you must have been able to create the galleries in the first instance.
Is it just the modification of the galleries (via the 'SimpleViewer -> Manage Galleries' page) that is the problem?
If so what happens (or does not happen) when you click 'Edit' to modify a gallery? Does an error message appear on-screen? If so, what does it say?
