Topic: Embedded Flickr Gallery and custom CMS

Hello,

I'm quite certain this topic has been addressed multiple times but I'm attempting to load Flickr slideshows by "set" into our web page. Here is the URL: http://flywatertravel.com/destination/pescamahahual

I have download the SV builder and published the embed code but when I load the code into my CMS it's not working. Can someone point me to a thread that I can follow to get this to work properly?

Your gallery's embedding code in your http://flywatertravel.com/destination/p … index.html page uses the code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="svcore/js/simpleviewer.js">

... so the 'simpleviewer'js' file should be located here on your web server: http://flywatertravel.com/destination/p … eviewer.js
... but it is not there.
Your gallery should display correctly if you upload the contents of your gallery folder to your http://flywatertravel.com/destination/pescamahahual/ directory (following the embedding instructions here).
If you have uploaded your complete gallery folder (rather than just the contents) to your web server somewhere, then you can embed your gallery using the baseURL method (as documented here).

Okay. I thought because the gallery was "hosted" by Flickr that I wouldn't need to complete that step. I'm not sure how to upload the gallery to the web server as my CMS is rather convoluted for doing so.

All SimpleViewer galleries (whether they are sourced by local images or a Flickr account) require the core SimpleViewer gallery files (the 'svcore' folder) and the gallery's XML file (where the gallery's configuration options and Flickr settings are stored).
If you cannot upload your gallery files to your own web space, then you could host your gallery on Dropbox by following the Embedding in a Web Template Site instructions.

Okay, great! I got it working via Dropbox. Thanks so much.

My next task is to figure out how to populate a gallery with just images from a Flickr set. Do you have instructions for how to do this? Once I get this working we will buy the pro version.

You can display images from a Flickr Set by using the flickrSetId configuration option, a description of which can be found in the Flickr Options section of the SimpleViewer-Pro Config Options page.
The Flickr Set Id can be entered in svBuilder-Pro's 'Images -> Flickr Images' section.
Please note that when using a Flickr Set Id, the Flickr User Name, Flick User Id and Flickr Tags are overridden.
