On this web page: http://lindastarkey.com/Gallery_files/w … arkup.html
... you have two galleries: one loaded into an iframe and another embedded directly into the page.
It is the gallery loaded into the iframe that is being displayed on your web page.
(The gallery embedded directly into the page is not being displayed because the path to the 'simpleviewer.js' file in the embedding code is incorrect.)
The gallery loaded into the iframe can be found here: http://lindastarkey.com/SimpleViewer2/index.html
the thumbnails load but the large image is a X
The imageURLs in your gallery's XML file are incorrect.
The first image should be located here: http://lindastarkey.com/SimpleViewer2/i … s__111.jpg
... but going directly to that location in a browser results in an error 404 (file not found).
Check the location of your images on your web server.
Also, please see this FAQ which deals with seeing crosses where images should be:
My images show locally, but not when I upload them to my webserver. What are possible problems?
also the background is showing as black even though I have ticked transparent background
The gallery has a background color of '222222'. Change '222222' to transparent.
If you want the other gallery embedded in the web page to be displayed instead of the gallery loaded into the iframe, then remove the iframe code and make sure that the path to the 'simpleviewer.js' file is correct.
