Topic: First gallery with AV Pro

Hey,

I've been thinking about using autoviewer for a while and I finally took the plunge with the pro version!

http://brianchapmanphotography.com/gallery1/index.php

I modified the pro version according to some of the posts in this forum:
1.  Turned off fading
2.  Positioned the images at the top of the stage instead of center
3.  Moved the captions underneath the images
4.  Removed the shadow and glow from the caption text
5.  Made the non-focused images transparent instead of just darker
6.  Made the frame hollow so the transparent images (#5) would so the background image and not be blocked by the frame (in other words, the frame is just the border now)

This particular gallery is not set to scale so you need a big browser to view it as I intended but I'm going to work on fixing that soon.

The only problem is that it seems to think there is one extra image (click to the end of the gallery) so if anyone can help me with that I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, I'd love to hear some feedback!

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

looks good! I don't think there is a problem regarding the last image. Autoviewer will display the current image in the middle of the stage, which is why the last image displays in the middle (see example gallery here: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/proj … iewer/app/ )

Thanks Felix!  I see what you mean about the last image...it makes sense to do it that way.

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

WOW!
I think this sites great, it does take a while to get into a gallery loadingwise but I like it.

So this was all done in AVpro?
I didnt know you could link it to preview thumbnail buttons?

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

I realized that my link has been changed to the autoviewer galleries so here is the updated one to the post containing info and links to the AV Pro galleries:

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

Brian in your portfolio U have it where you click on a thumbnail and the screen darkens and a pic autosizes and appears. Is this using AVpro and if so how hard was it to achieve what you did?
I am a flash novice who has no programming skills.

Everywhere i read AVPro is said to be easy to use, i have found it otherwise due to do real documentation.

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

Ade,

The effect you're talking about is using LightBox:

It's a javascript effect and has nothing to do with flash...although there are quite a few lightboxes available now and some do use flash.

You can see the AV Pro stuff by clicking news and then looking for the flash gallery post - I think it's the first one still.

I hope lightbox doesnt cost anything and is easy to use..
BTW i really love your work, less is more approach is what i also believe in smile

Thanks for replying i hope lightbox works out for me.
I am no flash pro nor programmer, did u find it hard to use?

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

Well, good news then, lightbox is easy to use and free!

Let me know if you have any questions...

Re: First gallery with AV Pro

5.  Made the non-focused images transparent instead of just darker

How did you make it?
