Topic: Variable (relative) viewersize in Firefox

Hi,

I used SV 1.8 to put a gallery online.
It worked fine in Safari en IE, but not in Firefox.
I found the solution here on the forum: Firefox can't deal with a relative viewer size (which was set at 100%)

When I change it to a fixed size it works, but I would prefer a variable size.
Is there a way to do this?

Did SV 1.7 have this problem? If not - would downgrading to 1.7 be an option?

Thanks in advance!

firefox can use percentage sizes (check here for an example ).

Hi Felix,

Thanks for your quick reply (and thanks for Simpleviewer!)

However: it's true that your page works in FF - but mine doesn't... I copied most of it from an example on your site, so it should work I guess.

Can you take a look at what I did? Here's the link: --> hmm... I can't post link yet...

On the opening page I set the size to 100% - which doesn't work in FF.
On the other pages I put the viewer's height to 700 pixels, and that works..
Very strange!

I'd be very grateful if you could help me out!

Sorry for the [nt] posts, but I couldn't post a link otherwise...

Here it is: xxxx

Thanks!

Oh no - I have to wait 5 days apparently. Sorry..
I'd like to know the answer sooner though..

Edit: Anyway - what I did comes directly from your Multiple Galleries example page. But: that one has a fixed size..

Is there any way you can let me post a link?

Compare the CSS on your page with the one that works and try experimenting. Often CSS type stuff is just trial and error.

Re: Variable (relative) viewersize in Firefox

Ok, thanks - and sorry for the posting mess..

I've put the height to 600 pixels for now, and left the width at 100%.
Odly enough, the width doesn't seem to bother FF..

I'll post the solution if I can find it myself.
There's another poster with the same problem btw, I'd link to the post if I could..

Re: Variable (relative) viewersize in Firefox

wabbit, why don't you try to do it reversely? set width to  e.g. 800px and height 100%. that should fix problems with IE scrollbar that is always present when you don't want it there too at the same time. cheers
